I'm interested in Morricone's scores lately (because Morricone fans at SST played them very often!), but right now this is only one album I have. I want The Mission next lick

If you hear The Mission, you will also hear some parts of one score you particularly love in it. smile

    LOL!

I remember the days when I only had one Morricone score (which I think was Once Upon a Time in the West). 200 later and I've still got so much left to explore.

The Mission is quite simply sublime, one of the truly great scores IMO. And after all these years I believe it's still in print.....has there even been a time when it wasn't?

NP : THE BIG COUNTRY - Jerome Moross

I have no hesitation in putting this amongst my top 20 film scores of all time.

  3. NP: American Beauty - Thomas Newman

The score that put Thomas Newman on the rest of the world's radar. For all of us film music fans, we new a star long, long ago. I think this score might always be one of Newman's defining moments in our culture. Not my favorite score of his, but definitely memorable. smile

NP: The Dark Knight - Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard

Not a favorite. Though it would seem I had previously overlooked Harvey Two-Face, which is in fact quite a pretty track.

EDIT: And I just realized that the opening of Aggressive Expansion is in fact a rip-off of Cibola from Rabin's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. slant

So now ZImmer rips from Trevor Rabin? biggrin

    n.p. RAMIN DJAWADI - Deception

I quite like this smooth, all-electronics, urban and modern bastardized brother of K-PAX.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I want the harp in love theme in "one day " track mixed more loud, like it is in the movie!

My favourite Zimmer score, ever (well, sometimes it's my second, when I have the Da Vinci Code mood).

    NP: I'm legend (Newton howard)

    One of my favourites.

The main theme is one of his finest.

"reunited " using "the pier"'s theme is fantastic.

Next I will Play: Rambo (tyler)

The ethnic touch reminds me to Rambo III.

It's one of tyler's scores I most enjoy, Because it has a theme!

  4. NP: THE FIFTH CORD (Ennio Morricone)

okay, the Morricone I don't like to hear that much, much more sinister and darker
and the orgasm effects I have heard too much as well wink

Such a fine album. Love it!

Glad you did. Some of the most heartfelt film music i've heard in years.

Unfortunately, I can't hear anything as good as that when I listen to it. Thought, "Eli's Theme" is worth hearing.

NP: The Emperor's New Groove (Expanded Score) - John Debney

    Boom, baby! cool

I'm getting addicted this score. Especially jazzy fun Run Llama Run and Yzma's theme.

Pacha's theme is very beautiful, but not sappy. I also like the way the melody from the Sting's song blended into the score. The song itself was nice but completely out of place in the end credits, but considering the troubles Sting had in this project (it was originally supposed to be a epic fantasy musical directed by The Lion King director: aka Kingdom Of The Sun), it was inevitable...

Anyway it's really enjoyable score! Love it. Thanks Anthony kiss

Give him a film with interesting visuals, and he seems to excel. Give him generic crap like most of the stuff he scored last year, and he will generally produce generic crap.

EDWARD SHEARMUR - The Wings of the Dove

Sweepingly melodic with bold themes and utterly romantic, this small fully - orchestral gem is one truly beautiful listening experience.
