Some kind of decent score may have helped.
Instead of a crappy one. True.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

The Mist
I really enjoyed this - a rather generic horror film perhaps, but it pulled out the tricks better than most recent ones. Unfortunately all the talk (even though it was spoiler-free) about the "shock ending" meant I predicted what would happen, which removed some of its impact. Still - a good film, I thought. -

I enjoyed it a lot.
Your tale reminds me of THE SIXTH SENSE, I kept hearing people say 'you'll never suss the twist at the end'.....I sussed it in the opening minutes of the film, simply because I was looking for it.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

I saw it very early on at its release and was really shocked with the ending .
A good film with an original and daring ending I'd say .
I heard they didn't release it in US theatres at the time (around 4th July ?) because of the ending ."Simplicity is the key to brilliance" -

Me too. Once I'd guessed what was going on, I didn't really see the point of watching the film (Sixth Sense). It all seemed so geared up towards that "twist". Still, I would like to see it again some day, since I've grown more appreciation of (some of) Shyamalan's films recently. -

Eye of the Leopard
A National Geographic documentary. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing - it looked absolutely stunning in HD. Follows the life of a leopard from young cub until it comes of age. A magical moment after it kills a baboon and then seems to feel guilty about leaving the baboon's new-born baby without a mother, so tries to "adopt" it. Nice music, too (not sure who it was by). -

HE GOT THE GAME
Awesome! last night, i watched this movie on TV. I was touched by the movie and performance by the actors, especially Denzel Washington was simply amazing. This is one of the best sports drama film. Most importantly, i was totally mesmerised by the score. Aaron Copland did a excellent job. In fact, this is first time in my life, i have listened to his score. The score lifted the spirit of the movie. Great stuff!Racism, Prejudices and discrimination exists everywhere. -

I'm surprised we haven't heard more from this Copland fellow. (Sunil, the joke is that he has been dead for a very long time. His compositions were placed in the film by the director and music supervisor - it wasn't composed for the film.)
The Kingdom
A disappointing film. A reasonable premise (investigating a terrorist attack on an American base in Saudi Arabia), but it doesn't really hold the attention until the spectacular action sequence which takes up the last half hour of the film. Danny Elfman's score is as uncharacteristically bland in the film as it is on album. -

Oh, I see! Thank you very much for your information. However, i appreciate the director and music supervisor for handling his composition very beautifully. They did a excellent job.Racism, Prejudices and discrimination exists everywhere. -

"Arlington Road"
Great film. And not you typical "The good guy always wins" ending you'd expect from a film like this.
Angelo Badalamenti and tomandandy are credited as the composers on IMDB. The score was nothing special. Some synth dronning, percussion, pretty by-the-numbers expectations score. Goldsmith could have done wonders with this.
Strongly recommended for those who like phsychologial thrillers with tense drama. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Back to the Future
I haven't seen this for YEARS and had forgotten how good it was, a perfect summer movie. For sure, parts of it don't make sense, but who cares? It's just meant to be fun, and is. And what a main theme - one of the best action/adventure themes in all of film music. -

One of three of my all-time favourite films. Just a perfect piece of entertainment. -

I desperately avoid watching them on TV because when I do watch them I want to watch them all and make it a 'special occasion'. That's why I'm waiting for the Bluray version to next watch them.
Not only are they brilliant films, but they carry a lot of nostalgia for me as I've loved them since birth... pretty much.

Saw two films yesterday:
RV: Evan Almighty
Hilarious! Steve Carell is such an amazing actor!
RV: Iron Man
My first time seeing this epic superhero film. I loved every bit of it. I eagerly look forward to the sequel!

Not hard to do better, but I must say that I hope that the hip rock element (with a decently orchestrated ensemble though, no argument about that!) stays. There is something like that to Downey Jr's performance that demands this kind of approach.http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

Just saw Michael Moore's SICKO, another brilliant film of his about the problems regarding healthcare and how it affects the people who need help but just can't afford it because of ludicrous high cost and requirements to get insured. Again the movie is every bit as enjoyable and shocking as his earlier films. I loved how he tried to take the group of sick people to Guantanamo prison, about the only place in the U.S. that provides free healthcare for ... terrorists.
Basically this is about as anti-american you can make a documentary. I think there is something really wrong with the whole system there, which seems to exist to make big money and help the least amount of sick people. That fact totally floored me !!!!"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

I don't know. Was it Downey Jr's fun, hippy and slightly autoironic performance that made it work?http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website
