I didn't say I didn't like it. I just said I thought it was simplistic and cheap. I loved the final track (and not just because that meant there was no more of it left).

Me too, specially from minute 4 to 10!!!

Now I have Burned the action stuff, I'm ready to the dramatic , and gorgeous, stuff.

It's not so simple and cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Gosh Sake! tongue ( I just wanted to say that).

Anyway, Howard and Zimmer toke a very dramatic and trascendental way for Da VInci, it had a very sensitive ( even if the movie and the movie are trash) theme.
Now they are just having fun, so that's because the movie is getting better reviews and ZImmer is LOUD. tongue

Don't remember it. I enjoyed the first track (which in fairness was perhaps the only one that made me think the score is cheap) and the last one, didn't notice much in between. Haven't listened to it enough yet to form a solid opinion.

The first track is cheap (ironically I find the only real horns and strings above all the synthetic, but cool, trash).

Then I just can hear some cheap synthetic strings and chorus a few second in "air" and the rest sounds all orchestral (even if it's sampled) mixed with heavy electronics.

"Election by adoration" and "503" contains a more clear recording of the orchestra than In Da Vinci, where they was a little but muded.

I like ANGELS AND DEMONS; it has what many scores from the younger composers around lack: large doses of FUN and energy, in contrast to bad scores from so and so composers who take themselves too seriously.

    Ok. me neither.

I say "bad" comments about Desplat, but in fact I do appreciate some of his scores, and when I'm in the mood, his style.

OMG, Thomas! You're a constant source of wicked one-liners! biggrin

The one cool thing about Ninfa Plebea is the early appearance of the ogling/bucolic theme in Malena. Did you catch that reference?

Where are you getting these Morricone scores, btw? I bought so many of them some years back and now I'm saturated and broke.
