    The Last Castle

    :sigh:, those trumpets smile

Track 10- Taking Command at the 1:24 mark must be my favorite bit of the score.
It is perfect in the film. See it's use in an terrible version of the film uploaded on youtube.
Start at the 3:20 mark. Awesomeness. cool

Blonde version of Jack Black maybe; oh, and NON-CRAP too.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  2. James Horner - The Man Without a Face

An early heartfelt and restrained score from Horner. I really like it.

I love this score too! Actually, it's one of my favourites by Horner. And I love the movie as well, Gibson's directorial debut (even though it has no blood and violence at all... smile)

    I was playing: Rocketeer (Horner)

I'm in Horner mood again! Finally! THanks God!

"The Flying Circus " is one of my favourite cues ever. I almost can see the "first flight" of the character.

    NP:Treasure Planet (James Newton Howard)

I remembered this score thanks to Perfect Storm electric guitars, I never had a proper listen because I always thought it was uninspred but there a couple of trakc on it!

PS: James Newton Howard has become since Signs in my third favaourite composer after Zimmer and Powell. It has the elegan touch of Goldsmith and williams, and the modern rythms from Zimmer.
  3. NP: Russkies -- James Newton Howard

Really dated score, the synthesisers sound really poor and the score is not really interesting on its own
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh

    NP: Twilight - Carter Burwell

I don't know why on Earth I've been listening to this so much lately, seeing as most of it makes me want to vomit.
  4. The Dig (Michael Land)

Truly gorgeous atmospheric soundtrack of the adventure game by LucasArts set in deep space. I have a hard time recalling another game that had such tremendous atmosphere and that totally sucked me in its interesting storyline, thanks to its music (being a sci-fi fan helped too). Part cues taken directly from the game, part rerecorded with a tremendous vocal addition that never ceases to provide goosebumps. The Dig is one such example of videogame music that works completely like a film score... And I think the cheap synthesizer sound is anything but horrible, in fact it's fantastic IMO. It would be interesting to hear this music translated for orchestra and choir though.
"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G.

Fast paced, fun score that's a great enjoyable listen.

Fu-cking brilliant. I'm in bed with flu and need some Horner to cheer me up.

    It's working, by the way.

He died. So JNH is my third favourite composer, alive.

(and since James Horner isulted all his fans )

NP: The Postman (James Newton Howard)

First track is like a track from another score, but it's so typical Newton Howard!!!

The rest goes to bland score to exiting action music.

    A forgotten score.

Why should a composer being dead or alive have any effect on your list of favourites? confused (Unless you make it clear that it's a list of favourite composers working today.)

Maybe he's sure his favorites will pay him a visit one day or the other. So; it's logical that he wants them to be at least.....not dead. freezing

I don't really like his 'drama film' side. I MUCH prefer his more inventive, dark side ala Brothers Grimm and V. Give him the next Batman film! lick (That is if Goldenthal is unavailable.)

    He is finally back. cool

    A Bridge Too Far
    John Addison
What a theme to accompany such an amazing movie. This film by far has one of the greatest casts of all time. Plus directed by Richard Attenborough. What could possibly go wrong. wink
I haven't seen Gandhi in forever...

Well.. it's more like " My favourites composers working today" and "my all time favourites composers". it's the same list, but you have to add Goldsmith in the second.
  6. NP: THE INCREDIBLES --- Michael Giacchino

Long time no heard, and Giacchino still rocks the house wink
