Well, i love Bond films and i am eagerly awaiting for every new installment each time. And i have to admit that the Putin chick looks hotter and hotter with each and every glance i throw at her and yeah the score is a snoozer i can't even play on disc and the song is vomit-inducing but WHO CARES? IT'S BOND! BRING IT IN!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I'd like to see it too.
Just one thing, every time I see Daniel Craig in interviews he's such a plank. I'm afaid that as Bond he's had a bit of a charisma by-pass.
It didn't surprise me in the least that in a recent poll of the best Bond's Connery was still easily # 1.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

DOUBLE INDEMNITY
Insurance man Fred MacMurray falls for Barbra Stanwyk and concoct a plan to "off" her dull husband to collect the insurance.
Brilliant script by Raymond Chandler and director Billy Wilder with a scene stealing turn by Edward G. Robinson. A great score too by Miklos Rozsa whose theme to this has been a long time favourite of mine.

You know "putin" means whore in French?

The drums drive away all doubt. They are about a man whose purpose is fulfilled, who followed his destiny although it meant the incomprehensible. The Resurrection completes the picture. This is Jesus, Son of God. Time for drums.
Hm, I suppose I could look at it this way. As long as it's not: "This is Jesus, Son of God. Time for drums, muthafuka." See the distinction? I could've sworn I'd read a 2004 John Debney interview saying the drums really were meant as a battle rally.
Gattaca is so incredibly depressing, and yet so beautiful indeed. I agree the music isn't something I'd necessarily sink my teeth into (after all this time I still don't own the CD) but effective.
Recent viewing: All three Bourne movies. Someone, please, GIVE PAUL GREENGRASS A TRIPOD!!!! Tell him that shaking the camera constantly isn't what made The Bourne Identity great! It's all about using that technique sparingly, SPARINGLY! Ugh. But if you can look past that (perhaps someone who naturally has the shakes would cancel out the effect?) I found the movies great. The 2nd one didn't seem to have much "point" or purpose other than be a sequel, but the 3rd one certainly brought the whole thing to a nice close. I love all the winks it gave to earlier moments in the series, including Clive Owen's great line in the first one.''The mandate, as well as the benefit, of responsibility is the ability to tell when one can afford to be irresponsible.'' - Me -

Saw that Outpost horror movie.
Haha, I think I enjoyed the trailer a whole lot more.
It really left a lot to be desired. But it is only 90 minutes long, so a nice quick popcorn film. -

Rented some Halloween films.
My wife wanted something cheesy to start with so we rented the remake of The House on Haunted Hill. A film that doesn't take itself seriously (especially a film starting Chris Kattan) but does contain some truly disturbing images and scenes. Geoffry Rush is great as Stephen Price, a millionaire theme park owner who tries to create the ultimate thrill by bringing a group of diverse people to a real haunted house. It gets laughable at the end but it satisfied my wife's needs for a truly cheesy horror film. BTW, Don Davis' score is money! An underrated gem which features one of the most disturbing cues of all time... "Pencil Neck."
We then turned on Ginger Snaps... a Canadian produced Werewolf tale which I think is the best Werewolf based film I've seen. It's obvious that the film is a metaphor for puberty as Ginger begins her transformation into a Werewolf the day she has her first period... but she also gets bitten by the original beast terrorizing the neighborhood that same day. Ginger's transformation is progressive instead of automatic as with other films. The first half of this movie is splendid and the first attack on Ginger is terrifying. Mimi Rogers is a scene stealer as the out of touch mother of Ginger and her younger sister Bridgette. The latter half of the movie turns into a typical slasher film but keeps the suspense up until the final moments. There are two sequels which I've been told to stay away from. But I highly recommend you check out the original. Really well done. BTW, the electronic score by Mike Shields is pretty bad.
Up next is Jacob's Ladder and then another viewing of What Lies Beneath which I think is an underrated film by Robert Zemeckis. Both my wife and I LOVE that film!

[REC] last night out of Marcel's recommendations and i loved it, i am DEFINITELY NOT going to watch the american version 'cause i suspect they'd change the ending into something cheesier and generally crap-it-up in something that takes itself too seriously (very not-like the spanish original) and put a hell of a lot more worthless material in order to extend the spanish's original duration of 70 minutes into more unnecessary junk. The trailer i've seen, at least, justifies this fear.
Anyway. this must be one of the most clever, tightly-constructed, non-tiring and entirely-gripping horror movies i've ever seen, and i am not even a fan of the genre. Very impressive.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Hey, glad you liked it Demetris! I agree with your last two lines, so I´m not adding anything else
I really had to change my pants after watching it, and I watched it twice at the cinema (the first time with Jordi in the first line of the cinema, what an experience to watch this movie so close by the way). Hope more people discovers this one.
As for the american remake the thing is that it is almost a remake frame by frame of the spanish version (well, there are a couple of gory scenes that are not in the original, but nothing else). Actually, the ending is EXACTLY the same. The question is why do they spoil it in the trailer?! I mean, the end of the american version trailer is the end of the movie! Incredible.
So those of you that are watching "Quarantine", be warned: do not watch the trailer.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -
