Dentists are insanely expensive in Norway. A regular check-up will cost you from 1000 NOK and upwards.

Holy crap! Why is that? Lack of competition, price fixing or something equally sinister?

I think a checkup in Denmark would probably be half that, and we actually do have very expensive dentists. Many danes go to Sweden when they need to get their teeth fixed, as it's rather cheaper there.

I wish it would be part of the public health service. There's obviously something wrong when prices can differ like that from country to country.

I just tried to have a jog, but it eventually dwindled into a fast-paced walk as I -- once again -- thought I was gonna die every 2 minutes.

    So this annoys me:

Why is the brain wired in such a way that everything that is painful, boring and tiresome (workout, healthy food etc.) is GOOD for you while everything that feels good (potato chips, beer, relaxing etc.) is BAD for you?

    Doesn't make sense, dammit!

I don't know. It's Norway. And dental care is not part of the public health system the same way as regular health care is (where you only pay a moderate amount and the state/taxes covers the rest).

A regular checkup is £18. A filling / root canal is £49. (If on the NHS!)

    Funny, but not entirely fair.
As I hypothesised before: "She probably would have been a fan," (Anne stepsister) Schloss says. "Why not? He's a young man and she was a young girl, and she liked film stars and music. ..."

I'm not really fussed whether Anne Frank might have been a fan of Justin Fuckwit, the important thing is to make fun of that little twirp as much as possible. Let us never lose sight of this.

No 'mass ejections' but the worst abdominal cramps/pains ever.

That was yesterday. Just stomach muscle aches today.

  5. Thanks for the concern. The family went out on Thursday evening for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

I had pigeon, steak & kidney pudding then creme bruleé. By about 3 am I was writhing in agony with horrible stomach doctor. It was so bad that I was at the out-of-hours doctor by 7 being injected with painkillers and anti-vomiting meds.

Yesterday was a complete non-day. And last night wasn't very settled as I have a bit of residual abdominal aching that is still distracting.

Though we did spend the day birding today. Year tick list now stands at 113.
