When I read things like this I am ashamed to be an agnostic myself. Atheist culture is going downstream alongside religion. Are we not called on to set a better example instead of sinking on the same level of hatred and intolerance? Depressing! sad

Overreaction of the millennium* to talk about hatred and self-loathing as a response to the cutest joke I've ever seen. In fact, I think that joke is probably the most innocent sentence Steven has ever written.

It illustrates the overreactiveness that religious beliefs somehow induces in people, when people so easily are called haters after doing practically nothing.

    Indeed.

The NK leaders are scared shitless, because they're convinced that the US is planning to invade. Considering that the US sent B-2 stealth bombers from the US to South Korea without landing (an obvious message to NK), it's not really surprising that NK is acting all tough now. The truth is, none of the parties want a fight, so they'll keep flexing their muscles instead, trying to scare off the other guy. Of course NK is the tiny guy without muscles, so he's compensating by being more vocal and acting crazy.

Hehe, I know you were being overly dramatic for comedic effect. But if you felt just a little bit disheartened by the lack of response I can only sympathize. The more effort you invest in a post, the less attention it will get.

  1. That's all rubbish! That half assed dictator type is begging for attention that's all. Don't move any staff unless thinks look really dangerous. We must not take that circus more serious than necessary.

I would hope though for RedChina to be a bit more outspoken. War is in NOBODY's interest.

I'd seriously love it if the US could put that country next in the wipe-out list, after the current target: stinky Iran.

Everyone knew it existed, but after reading a bit regarding what was revealed by the Offshore Leaks, I'm disgusted. While Europe has to bailout countries, resulting in terrible situations and a generation without jobs or a future, there's an elite that doesn't even pay taxes. Weak governments and fantastic lobbying I guess. However, it's equally sad to know that that if these trillions would be taxed, that the governments would still be able to spend a lot of it on the wrong things too!

And the British Virgin Islands? VIRGIN ISLANDS?
    You have virgin islands? uhm

This is why i am so opposed to crappy austerity tactics imposed by Germany on the rest of the EU. There will be a time when austerity will hit the average German and the simple people will understand eventually what we are going through; the big bosses, inside and outside Germany, will still laugh by then when they will be smoking their expensive fat cigars on our asses.

I'm afraid it's not. The Biebster is HUGE over here, among young teenage girls. It's just some school on the west coast, though...not all of Norway.
    I am extremely serious.

Germany and the Netherlands and Belgium and Austria and Sweden.
Yeah, Germany is the factual hegemon, but believe me, nobody here is particularly glad about it. And the ongoing shitstorm is leading to a siege mentality that I reagard with some concern.

Anyway, how would you propose to finance a departure (á la Keynes) from austerity? Hair cut? Printing money & inflation? More depts? German tax funds? Where is the money supposed to come from? Shall we sell Greece to China? For we are not going to adopt Greece as the 17th federal state.

Oddly the attack hasn't been claimed yet.

I have a sinking suspicion that this may be an internal rather than an external attack (i.e. a native vigilante group rather than the usual suspects, terrorist islamists).
Although the concept is sickeningly similar to the plot of the British film 'Four Lions'(a very good comedy (!) about a group of misguided islamist misfits planning to blow up the London Marathon; except they planned suicide runs).
Well. It's all speculation at this point.

Deeply, deeply harrowing and disturbing event.
