Very true Steven but I still can't imagine that you won't pick up a ST III expanded in a warp speed jiffy. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Any other soundtracks that make good use of vocals (not lyrics)? Or anything else that uses something similar to the emotional string section at the end?
John, try "Blood Diamond" by James Newton Howard. Or, if you REALLY like the African-sounding vocals, try "The Power of One" by Hans Zimmer. But the former is a more accessible choice, and one of my all-time favorite scores.
Mate this is incredible stuff! -

I agree with you on ST2 vs ST3 by the way. I like ST3 but its predecessor is nothing short of a masterpiece. -

Basil Poledouris - Conan the Barbarian
Rather bad score without any notable themes. I wished they would have used more E-Guitars for this, because that´s what fantasy movies about half-naked brain-deads must sound like. Take Kull or Scorpion King, for example. That´s what I was expecting, not this purely orchestral bullshit. But in the end, the movie itself sucks big time, too, so there was actually no need to care about a good score.

Krull. Perfect for ANY conditions. -

Leaving aside Horner irritates me , I think Krull is too joyful for a rainy day.
And How Steven irritates me even more, I choose something else...
NP:Memoirs of a geisha (Williams)
Gorgeous!!!!
it's all what Zimmer's the last samurai is not. Highly asian influenced, and complex.
In my top Williams 5! A list:
1-Empire Strikec Back
2-temple of the Doom
3-E.T
4-Prisoner of Azkaban
5-Memoirs of a Geisha
(I like The last Samurai though). -

NP: The Lion King - Hans Zimmer
For the sake of sound quality, playing the OST today. The best ever by Hans! -

Amazing, isn´t it? Shyamalan really gets JNH´s creative juices flowing.
Sure, there are favourites among them, but there´s not a single fail in the entire line-up.

Well done, my Padawan. Strong the dark forces are; always abandon we must anger and hate.
BTW, Conan the Barbarian is so bad I had to listen to it two times in a row to really appreciate its full extend of badness, by Crom!

SNAP!!!
Gotcha!
(Really, anyone who thinks this score sucks has to be impaled from behind with a Star Destroyer and beheaded by Conan´s Atlantean Sword itself.)
