Pop quiz, eh? I love that. However, I doubt any of those shows are available here.
Here's a TASTER for you Thor, this is an earlier show with my favourite host of the series, Mark Lamarr. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Just saw the first two episodes of THE BIBLE. Well, that was silly. Looks and sounds like a Fox Faith production. I'm Christian and everything, but I hate it when they 'glossy' up things like that. Still, it can be enjoyed for the special effects....and some of Zimmer's score, which sounds like GLADIATOR lite.I am extremely serious. -

Thanks! It's not often that a TV series or movie has such an effect on me, but this was heartbreaking and totally unexpected.

I couldn't agree more! I've always liked him as an actor, but he exceeded my expectations here. A truly scary character.

The fourth season was great, but the second one has been my favourite so far.

Oh yes, the second season was great too.
For my money the single greatest jaw-dropping moment comes at the end of the season six finale... -

Dexter, season 4 finale.
I loved the ending! (Mostly because it was a step in the right direction for the story and the character, but partly because she was starting to get annoying.)
Also, I can never look at John Lithgow the same again. Before Dexter, I always saw him as a loveable, comedic actor. Now I just get the creeps! (In a good way. He's brilliant.) -

I thought it was a great ending as well,
but I still felt saddened by it as I was attached to the character. Tragic endings are usually better and more meaningful than happy endings, if pulled off the right way, and
this one was handled with perfection.

I believe there are 7 seasons. There will be an 8th season, which might be the last one. I read somewhere that the writers are writing it as if it's the last, but they seem to keep an open mind that things might change.

Breaking Bad. That's where it's at. A show worthy of all the hype it gets! (I love Dexter, it's one of my favourite shows... but the writing pales in comparison to Breaking Bad.) -

Perhaps you'd prefer his character in Six Feet Under?

Six Feet Under was absolutely brilliant, one of the greatest tv series of its time (only just behind The West Wing and The Sopranos for me). -

plindboe, "Dexter" has a rollercoaster second season. It just seems to get worse and worse and build faster & faster, to the point where every episode ends with you thinking: how in the world is he going to get out of this? The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Indeed. I liked that they were always closing in, and Dexter was trying to sabotage the investigation while pretending that he was helping. The only thing that saddened me a bit
was that they had to snuff out Doakes, as he was such a great character. But it was really the only way to end it satisfyingly.
I've seen the first two episodes now, and it seems... okay so far. Can't say it's bowled me over, and it definitely shows its age (something which bothers me a little, it's very late 90s/early 00s). Does it pick up after a while?
I really have been spoiled by Breaking Bad. -

I can't really remember finding the first couple of episodes less good than the rest. So you should probably give up now and do something else instead. Like write a 3,000 word essay on how wrong you are about Six Feet Under. OPINION. -

I'd amend my opinion thus far as a show that has a great deal of potential. But given that I've only watched the first two episodes, I've probably only just scratched the surface? I'm not quite prepared to give up on it just yet!
I've watched enough shows to know that the great ones often take a little while to pick up steam (at least for me as a viewer). -

I'll tell you what I haven't watched, and that's Breaking Bad. I don't even know what it's about but all the buzz suggests I should watch it (saying that, there was as much buzz about The Wire and I never really did get into that). -

Reminds me of what I wrote earlier->I've started watching Dexter. It's not a bad show, and it has an interesting premise, but I am 5 episodes in and I haven't really fallen for it yet. I wonder if that will change. Perhaps the latter seasons will be better.
My next 30 posts was about how much I worship Dexter.

Fantastic show. You'll like it. It's far more accesible than THE WIRE (which is also brilliant in its own right).I am extremely serious. -

THE WIRE was frigging brilliant! I never understood the "best show ever created" kinda thing touted by a lot of TV critics, things like that are just too subjective but for me I have no doubt that it's *up* there with the best.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

I tried The Wire, and didn't manage to get through the first two episodes (but I might give it another chance as wide-spread acclaim isn't for nothing).
Breaking Bad is a show where the writing really shines, there is rarely -if ever- a wasted scene. It avoids MacGuffins like the plague. Tense is probably the best word to describe this show. -
