Minority Report - John Williams
I like this score a lot, and not just because of "Anderton's Great Escape", as fun as that piece is. Some of the other tracks like "Spyders" and "Eye-Dentiscan" sound like something I'd hear in an Alfred Hitchcock film. And "A New Beginning" is quite lovely.
I disliked everything except one cue, which at best was "okay". Sold it for like five dollars to another score lover, but only after I got so sick of having the bastard and no one wanting it, that I threatened to micrtowave it. In hindsight, I wish I had simply microwaved it.
That's because you're an idiot.
If only, if only we could have the kind of FSM messege board civility, on Easter of all days. Yeah. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

The Secret In Their Eyes/Kauderer. This won the Oscar for best foreign language film of the year. The score is being released on Milan.

Up Close & Personal - Thomas Newman
I think I may have posted this before, but I just saw the movie and I absolutely love the romance theme. It just proves that Newman is a master of achingly bittersweet love themes (alongside Meet Joe Black and The Good German...) -

NP : Back To The Future Part II - Alan Silvestri
I've got to say, after giving this one the first proper spin in ages, I prefer it over the first score quite a bit. -

Alexandre Desplat - The Ghost Writer
Not as diverse as some of Desplat's scores but the main theme is fantastic and interestingly orchestrated in its most subtle variations. Couple of standout cues, including the sole action cue and the finale cue. Certainly still in the upper echelon of Desplat's body of work. -

NV : The Greatest Story Ever Told - Alfred Newman
It's on TV at the moment, I'm not much bothered by the film but it's a joy to listen to the score and Newman's choral writing is spine tingling. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

It's the kind of moody Morricone I love, more mournful than The Thing and with a touch of that repeated keyboard motif from WOLF and out of context I would have sworn on a 'guess the music game' that one of the tracks was Pino Donaggio.
I reservedly recommend it.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

It's a fun score for sure but hasn't wowed me! And the recording still bothers the piss out of me. Ugh!
Up Next: Willow - James Horner

Me too. Still, quite a fun score, especially when you reduce its length a bit. -

I appreciate the work in creating that playlist but even that doesn't entice me to go back a relisten to the score. I'm really shocked that I don't like it more but I find, besides 2 or 3 cues, I really have no emotional connection to it whatsoever! Maybe seeing the film will help.

Yeah... and looking at the credits I wonder if the culprit is co-recording engineer Nick Wollage who is Patrick Doyle's main engineer and manages to always make the LSO on Doyle recordings sound so unbelievably thin and tinny with no lower end 'umph' whatsoever.

My favourite Beltrami album. Not as good as Kamen's scores, but it gets more plays from me than all three of Kamen's scores put together. -

NP: Beastmaster 2: Through The Portal of Time - Robert Folk
I recommend that every one here listen to more Robert Folk. This score is magnificent featuring one of my all time favorite themes heard at the tail end of the epic all most 10 minute battle cue "Dar The Hero."
