Sweet. What would you recommend, and why?

I don't have much by Fielding, listen to James. I like The Mechanic and The Outlaw Josey Wales. I also like The Gauntlet but it's very jazzy and I don't think you'd like it.

The only member of RC on the album is Gavin Greenaway.

I'm drawn to the sound that Marco has created for this movie. It's so perfect. Can't say that I really enjoy the full album that much though.

Not as far as I remember? I don't remember this one rocking my boat but I should also dust it off and give it another go.

Die Another Day is an odd beast. It's Arnold's weakest Bond score, it's loaded with electronics and it doesn't fit the film that well...but it still good!

Halo Legends (Martin O'Donnell, Michael Salvatori & some Japanese composers)

Now this is more to my liking. The soundtrack to the Japanese anime TV series based on the epic game series. The music consists of the famous tunes by O'Donnell & Salvatori, all from Halo 1 & 2 in fact, none from part 3, however this time around they're performed by orchestra & choir and the various themes never sounded better. Scattered between those tracks are new compositions by 2 or 3 asian co-composers, which have no Halo theme statements, yet don't sound completely out of place, even if they are synthesized. There are some standout vocal moments, but sadly most of these cues are way too short to have a lasting impression. The Halo music still holds some of the most memorable tunes in gaming history and to hear them upscaled and upgraded from their synthesized origins way back in 2001 and 2004 is a wonderful experience. It helps to know the music of course and their function in the whole Halo mythology, but it's not a requirement to enjoy this album.

You Only Live Twice (John Barry)

From Halo to Bond ! Why not? This is only my second full listen but I already love the main theme which is utterly beautiful in that laid-back romantic Barry way. There's not nearly enough faster-paced music as I would've liked but then I assume this must be slower moving Bond, with an emphasis on romantic interludes (I've never seen the older films ). But when the usual Barry-action-sound appears it's all the more welcome, such as in 'Bond Averts World War Three'. And thematically there's absolutely nothing wrong with it of course, it has more melody than many of the recent scores combined.

It's utterly brilliant!
