    NP: Doctor Who Series 3 - Murray Gold

    I cannot imagine this show without Murray Gold's music. He has given every season so much life, energy, and thematic development. TV music at its finest.

  8. JP: The Last Airbender (Newton Howard)

    I like 'Hall of Avatars' and 'Flow like Water'. There are other parts I like, but I really can't shake the feeling that in its current form, it's the Shyamalan-NewtonHoward collaboration I connect to the least of all.
    And while some people are probably glad Shyamalan isn't up for writing duties on this one, I think I can feel the impact of that in the writing. It seems more about destiny and joining a legendary heroic tradition, without the usual emotional shape that even the least impressive Shya films require of their scores (Lady in the Water, The Happening). It's a shame that a collaboration that normally is so emotionally rewarding hasn't delivered this time.
    Just my opinion, is all. Can't say the drums excite me.
    Still, what a collaboration. This is their seventh score. I remember buying Unbreakable. I wouldn't have guessed at the 5 scores ahead.

    Just throw him a curly one - I do think 'Flow like water' beats 'Chevallier'...

    Now you said well. You prefer "flow" to "chevaliers".

    Another thing is JNH could give lessons to Zimmer to how compose things like "chevaliers".
