Of course it's real, airliners.net has a specific team of fully-paid personnel that either take the photos themselves or analyze the photos submitted in order to post them.
Here's the actual kick ass helicopter.

Is that real? I can't tell. The background looks real but the actual wing and fat off gun look like they've been Photoshopped in. What type of aircraft is that on btw?
Oh, it's for real all right!
I'm sure D can show a pic of the weapons carrier.

You could always start a 'sunsets and clouds' thread Alan? I mean, this IS a thread devoted to aircraft! On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

It's not exactly an airplane, but I got to fly in a blackhawk helicopter today!!
It was an awesome experience, especially since I've never been in a chopper before. I was a bit nervous at first since the doors were open during the entire flight, but once we were in the air, I was glad they were open since it allowed for a much nicer view. It did make for a cold flight though. The best part was when they banked at what I'm assuming was almost 80 or so degrees. I felt like I would fall right out!
I took a few photos. They aren't great, but you can see them here if you're interested. -

I've been in choppers 3 times and found each experience disconcerting.

Cool stuff David
The first helicopter ride was here in England, can't remember what kind of chopper it was, just a small commercial one.
The other two rides were both in NEPAL on the way to and from the begining of a trek to Mt. Everest in really dodgy looking ex-Russian combat helicopter....I think it was mostly held together with sticky tape and the Russian pilots were drunk, combine that with some incredibly steep mountain valleys full of turbulance and you get one hairy ride!

Just to feel part of the discussion:
I remember when on holiday in Morecambe (must have been in the early-to-mid '70s) there being a Sea King helicopter on the prom and getting to sit in the cockpit. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Cool!
I once sat in the cockpit of a Canberra ( an old RAF jet bmber ) at the Bristol 600 festival, I was about 10 years old and it was a festival to mark Bristol's 600th anniversary as a city. There was a Harrier jump jet and a Spitfire too though nobody was aloud inside these. I did get to clamber inside a Cheiftan tank though
The other really memorable thing about that event was a weight lifting demonstration by Precious McKenzie...do you remember him Alan?On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
