LOST (Spoilers!)

That brought me shivers like season 1 did, and it's been long since i last felt that. The accompanying musical piece is very sentimental.



Maybe the under the sea scene is from when Locke moved the island for the 2nd time in season 5? I remember seeing it swooping and disappearing under the sea. Maybe we haven't reached that time in the narrative yet.

The Japenese guy....i know him from somewhere, The Last Samurai or something similar? I am pretty sure, he even had the same hair cut!

As for the dialogues, give it credit people. It hadn't been so intense and witty since season 3/4.

The Japanese guy is Hiroyuki Sanada, and he was in The Last Samurai. He was also in the original Japanese (and massively superior) version of The Ring.

I see a lot of people Lost with LOST.

Sadly You can't read a spanish site where they discuss about every episode and makes his own theories.

I'm reading one right now where everything makes sense with this one!!!!

Oh, by the way....Lost is more than the facts you are watching. Lost is a show that makes you think about life and death, cause and effect, faith and hope....You can't say this show is bad when it makes you think so much.

I (finally) saw the season 6 opening, and I loved it. It's just incredibly amazing how this show keeps reinventing itself, and each season just seems to get better and better. It's so great to see a show that is intelligent, and keeps playing with narrative, serial form, and so on. And to top everything off, it's so engaging from a 'literary' point of view; I just can't believe how deep the mythology and intertextuality goes, linking literature, popular fiction and culture, science fiction, and science together.
While I saw the juxtaposition of a 'regular' and 'alternate' timeline coming, it's still amazing how they did it, and how it's playing out. And I'm sure the flashsideways will be strongly connected to the familiar timeline in some as yet unexpected way. Can't wait for the rest of the season!

(PS: since I'm not into p2p-programs or torrents - buying everything legit - I was wondering if anyone knows of and could PM-point me in the direction of a trustworthy forum or blog that offers up-to-date and virusfree rapidshare/megaupload/... uploads of the Lost episodes after they've been broadcast? Mostly I rely on some friends who get me a bunch of episodes after a half or a whole season, but this time, you'll understand, I'm a bit impatient Oh, if I can't ask this here, my apologies and please delete this PS!)

I saw the opening episode last night and I now officially hate this show. It's like the writers threw a whole bunch of random words on a piece of paper and submitted that as their script. This show jumped the shark for me a few seasons ago and I can't wait for it to be over. It's sad to see a show with so much promise turn into the turd that it is now. I'm pretty sure the actors don't believe in half the shit they have to say and do in the show anymore. They are just going through the motions until the shows long awaited death! And it even seems like Michael is bored with the program as well. With the exception of the neat music heard during the underwater island sequence the rest was rather ordinary and lifeless.

I saying all that I will watch the rest of the episodes just to see how much more absurd this program can get.

I think musically the the ideas have just run out, to no fault of Michael, but to the fact we've been going for over a hundred episodes. There can only be a limited number of variations on a theme even if there are around 40 big ones.

I gave in and watched it too. I don't hate it, or indeed think it's a turd, but I see your point. It still entertains me, so I'm not too worried about its pitfalls. But pitfalls they still are.

The whole mysterious island set up of the show still manages to intrigue me, but this is not as good as I once thought it was going to be. The first season set up too many false promises!

Exactly. Even some actors (Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly) seem to be bored with their characters. Still entertaining and addictive, I´ll give it that, but plot / story wise? Totally out of control and over the top.

Indeedy. Imagine if Aaron Sorkin was given the job of character development!

It's more of a cross of 60's and 70's though.

I can't explain it... because I'm always compelled to watch it even though I dislike it. There's never been another show like it. However awful I think the writing is, there's just something about the show that keeps pulling me in.
