That would be quite the shock to me!
I hope it's not someone we know already (even though it may be Christian). I just realised I have to wait three weeks for the finale. :-/Kazoo -

Here's where I stand - I read a post on Lostpedia where someone was complaining about spoilers, and they happened to mention one spoiler in particular. No one else seemed very affected by it so I don't know if it's true, but I damn well hope I don't know the ending to the season.
P.S. I would love to see Locke arrive at the cabin or wherever he goes this time still intending to kill Jacob, only to find out it's another manifestation of himself. -

Theres is somewhere out there where to watch the season finale in "real time"? -

Why would you want to do that? I mean, poor sound / video quality. You just have to wait a FEW hours to watch it properly. Be patient, my friend, be patient.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

Because I want to know who is jacob! -

So Jacob is....
Jacob
.
More comments on the season finale afterwards. All I got to say for now is that I certainly did enjoy it! -

So, here's what I got on the season 5 finale, The Incident:
Jacob - I liked the guy. For some reason I felt instant sympathy for this guy and I believe this was the writers' intention. I was certainly surprised by his response to Ben. Perhaps he was counting on Ben killing him? Perhaps Ben has been so evil and selfish that he did not deserve a better answer? I do hope though that this is not the last we have seen of Jacob.
Sawyer - He definitely stepped out of line when he started punching Jack around like that. When are those two going to realise they are part of the same team?
Kate and Jack - Just stop screwing around and make up already!
Juliet - So I really, really disliked her during the last 3 seasons. And not much changed in the last episode, especially with her the sudden change of moods and minds. But the scene that she lets go of Sawyer's hand was very touching. Also, when she woke up below and started crying, I noticed how Juliet always allows her emotions to re-surface when she is alone and not in front of other people.
Miles - When did he suddenly become so clever? Is he the only person to have realised that the bomb explosion could perhaps be the incident itself?
Phil - Good riddance. Loved the way he died!
Bernard, Rose and Vincent - What a very pleasant surprise!! I thought they were dead but damn I'm glad they're still around! And their words could not have been wiser!
Ben - This is the second time (first when he saw Alex shot) that I felt sorry for him. The way that he has been manipulated into this vendetta. The person who has been manipulating everyone else, suddenly becomes the puppet himself. It's justice on one hand. On the other hand, I cannot help but wonder: The Temple healing, Jacob's ignorance of him and his manipulation by Jacob's enemy - has he really had a choice all this time?
John Locke - Well, the guy is dead. He did not serve a greater purpose. He did not lead the Others. He was not destined for greater things. He did not have a destiny. He practically ended up being useless. And it's also ironic how Jack was telling him that all along, but suddenly he has turned into a believer now.
The fake John Locke / Jacob's enemy - Who is he? What does he want? How did he replicate John's body and memories? Is there anyone who can stop him? Is he as strong as Jacob, ie. can he cure people?
Also, I'm confused about the monster. Why would it tell Ben to follow John's instructions, if that guy is not John? Is the monster against Jacob as well? Is Jacob's enemy the monster? What about Christian? Is he the real deal too or Jacob's enemy? Why would he live in Jacob's cabin though? And why did Jacob move from the statue to the cabin and then back to the statue? What happened to the statue? And why does Jacob want to bring people on the island? What purpose did the touching of those people serve? Was he healing them? Choosing them? Protecting them? Making them immortal somehow? Maybe like Richard?
And the war that Widmore mentioned is between whom? Now that we know Illana is with the Others, who are they going to fight? Widmore's people? The Dharma people? Also, wasn't Illana's raft supposed to attack Sawyer's group when they were time-shifting? Or has that not happened yet?
Does this mean though that the bomb hasn't changed anything? Was Daniel wrong and the bomb is indeed the incident? Or has it changed everything, meaning that in season 6 we will not see of the Losties anymore but rather we will see Jacob's past, the arrival of the Black Pearl, the purpose of the Others and the destruction of the island when the bomb is left unburied (because Daniel never shows up to warn them). Is that at all possible? -

Who is the monster? Did you see the guy who talk with Jacob in te beggining? Did you remember what he say?
I guess Both are Gods. a fight between them. I guess Jacob put in some kind of "quarantine" the other, but He escapes and try to kill him.
I don't know but I see a theorie in this episode : 2 Gods playing with the humans. In the old fashioned Greek divinities.
What about that? -

Not really the same thing. What I find a little odd is the way some people talk about it is as if it were real!?

I just think a lot of people is a great fan of the show and like to talk about it, you know, all the theories, etc etc. It is not usual for a TV show to generate such debate and open so many doors. I mean, I love "24", but one can´t talk about "24" besides its plot, its action sequences and so. And the same with 90% of the shows. With Lost you can go further, it has more meat to bite (dunno if this means the same in english than in spanish). That said, I insist I´m not a BIG fan of the show. I don´t usually go further than the regular questions ("what does this character want", "what is this", "what is that", etc). In fact, whenever I have a serious doubt beyond the regular stuff I ask Jordi, I don´t bother to elaborate any theory of what´s going on.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

Ratings of the season finale:

9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 9.38 million
10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.19 million

The riddle was for Illana to identify her "friends" and when Richard gave the right answer she knew she could trust him and tell him about John. I believe the person the riddle refers to is Jacob, as he is the one residing in the foot of the statue. She was just there to warn Richard that John was in fact dead and the living "John" was someone else. I don't see it as John was the man the riddle was referring to.

Well if I've just been watching Locke for 5 seasons and now they reveal he's just been another pointless character, I'll be pissed! -

He was just a very useful pawn in Jacob's enemy's game... He got played just like he was played during his entire life. His weakness was that he always wanted so badly to be useful, that this clouded his judgement. He blindly followed some destiny and some fate, that even himself was uncertain of.
I don't know if Jacob plans on giving John his life back or if Locke will find peace now in the afterlife. But what I know for a fact now is that he died whilst following some greater destiny imposed to him by people like Ben and Widmore and by his own delusional beliefs, and he still remains dead. -

Btw, excellent finale, LOST returned (even for just a double episode) at the arena it has always played better, i.e. the one of passion, love and hate, life and death; and it does it in a superb way.
However, i am really curious as to where they're going to take it with the final season;
Picture this:
Endless discussions keep going on from now 'till Feb '10, when the new episode starts...
Jacob is dead, the Evil Guy has taken over and the entire season goes on about how the evil now prevails on the island.
The incident didn't break the island apart, it's still there but under new authority.
The Swan gets built and since the evil is now reigning, they have to push the damn button or else the world blows up 'cause the island has been broken and can't handle a 2nd incident; it will go final kaboom if something like that happens.
The Evil Guy resurrects Locke just to mock the insignificance of his existence and tell him about what happened when he was dead; just for no other reason than the fact that he is Evil.
Various other bad things happen at the island with the Dharma people vs the monster (i.e. the Evil Guy's puppy).
Towards the last episodes, we see the Losties shortly before their flight to Sydney. They don't know each other yet but we keep getting various insignificant filler made up of little stories about themselves and their lives before anything happened, various useless coincidences and stuff like that.
Time passes, we flash forward to the interior of the plane, Oceanic 815.
We see the Losties, still strangers to one another.
Flight gets airborne, time passes, everything running smoothly.
Giacchino builds the tension up with the music.
Plane starts shaking violently. The then unknown to Kate, Jack, stares at her and smiles in order to comfort her.
Music builds more and more passionate, loud and intense.
Plane keeps shaking, more and more violent as seconds go by.
Camera pans over all the faces of the Losties.
Music at its apex.
Jack and Kate are staring at each other's eyes.
Loud music - white flash starts to fade in, in-flight mid-air break-up sounds of the plane, Jack and Kate see each other.
White.
Lost Ends.
J.J.Abraams either ends up beaten up in some trench or he doesn't get to work again, ever in his lifeLove Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Well, here is what can possibly happen after the bomb explosion:
1. Daniel was wrong and the bomb explosion was in fact the incident. Nothing changes. The Losties that survive, end up in present.
2. The bomb prevents the incident. The button thingy never needs to be pushed. Desmond never crashes flight 815. Daniel never goes on a rescue mission. He never goes back in time to tell Richard to bury the bomb. The bomb: a) never explodes or b) explodes at some point destroying almost completely the island.
3. The bomb prevents the incident but only some things change. For example, another incident takes place afterwards. Or the bomb that is never buried, causes another incident. Flight 815 still crashes one way or the other. A few minor details might change but not much.
Personally, I prefer theory 3. There wouldn't be much point if the Losties never crash and we watch an entire season of the Others fooling around on an island. Plus, we would never get to know the answers to things such as what was Christian's role in Jacob's cabin or where did Claire go, because they would never be in that island in the first place, thus none of these would really matter!
I don't like the idea of the bomb explosion not changing anything either, because that would mean Daniel was wrong. And Daniel was never wrong. And I refuse to believe his death was insignificant. Also, if nothing changes, then where's the fun in it?!
So, I would like to see some minor things changing. Maybe spent an episode or 2, re-showing the history of the island after the bomb explosion until Jacob's death, in a sort of "fast-forward" movement, pausing only on bits that might have changed. Then we find the Losties back in present again, re-uniting and trying to deal with Jacob's enemy. -

SO IF THE PLANE STILL CRASHES WE HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE ENTIRE SHOW FOR 6 YEARS FOR NOTHING.
IF THE PLANE DOESN'T CRASH AND NOTHING FROM ALL THIS HAPPENS, WE STILL HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE DAMN SHOW FOR 6 YEARS FOR NOTHING.
You do realize the 1) stupidity behind all those possible scenarios, not as in you carrying them, but the possibility of those actually happening during season 6; and 2) the urgent need for SOMETHING entirely different than those possible scenarios to be on the shelf for LOST, from the writers. They better have something entirely different in the shelf! ssLove Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
