Ohhhhhh yeahhh!
Back when the world was young there were rumor's flying around that Williams cites "Xizor's Theme" somewehre in The Phantom Menace. I can't find any evidence for that though.
VolkerBach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

You know I really love that score! But somehow the film never resonated with me, I always found it almost unbearably cheesy. And the Christ-metaphor walked my nerves as soon as I was old enough to recognize it.
I don't say it's a bad film and I know it means a lot to many people. It just is not my pair of shoes.
NP: Film Music by Alan Silvestri (Silva, 2006). A nice compilation!
Earlier I listened to Shane - A Tribute to Victor Young. That, too, is a nice compilation.Bach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

I thought it was very earnest and endearing, but I was shocked to learn that it was up for best picture of that year. Yikes. -

I wasn't shocked at all, great film that deserved all it's accolades, even Richard Attenborough who won a clutch for Gandhi the same year said he thought Spielberg's film was really the deserved winner. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

I remember thinking that E.T. was too "Richard Clayderman" for my taste back when I got it. Then I listened to it more and more, saw the film a few times more and realized how bloody genial it is -- on album and in context. Eventually, I ended up analyzing the score in my master/Ph.D! Talk about a change of heart.I am extremely serious. -

Just playing random tracks I like for the mo.
In my time - One man's dream (Yanni)
Funny how 95% of Yanni's stuff does absolutely nothing for me, but then he goes and delivers tracks that absolutely floor me once in a while.
Miami Vice - Tubbs and Valerie (Jan Hammer)
There are themes from Miami Vice I like more than this, but this one is still pretty sweet.
Madagascar 3: Europe's most wanted - Light the hoop on fire! (Hans Zimmer)
This score was a disappointment, but I really like the russian choir theme that Zimmer created for the Vitaly character.
Memento - Cantara (Dead Can Dance)
Rhythmic and über cool world music (perhaps the first time in human history that the words über-cool and world music has featured in the same sentence).
Janghwa, hongryeon - Epilogue (Byung-woo Lee)
This theme is just exquisite. Works well in the movie too, especially when this bittersweet waltz starts playing at the end of the movie while you're trying to digest the confusing horrors you've just experienced.
Zee & co. - Theme (Stanley Myers)
I love this catchy flute theme. Shame this guy only seems to be famous for the deer hunter.
World of WarCraft: Mists of Pandaria - Way of the monk (Russell Brower, Neal Acree, Sam Cardon, Edo Guidotti & Jeremy Soule)
This has got to be one of the most awesome tracks of 2012.
Caravans - Theme from 'Caravans' (Mike Batt)
People mentioned this theme here on MT a while ago so had to try it out. Different and very catchy. Thanks guys!
The x-files, season 8 - This is not happening-Big happening (Mark Snow)
Mulder is found dead and Scully desperately runs to an alien who can revive him. I love the music that plays in this scene. One of the few times in the show where the music was allowed to take the center of attention.
Santa Claus - Patch versus Santa (Henry Mancini)
Sweet, quirky and catchy.
The dark knight rises - Imagine the fire (Hans Zimmer)
I'm not sure how I feel about the rest of the score, but this cool track I enjoy a great deal. No matter what it sounds like they're singing, I find the choir to consist of pure awesome.
Chronicles - Breath and life (Audiomachine)
I don't know much about this trailer group, but this track is fantastic.
Silas - Silas! (Christian Bruhn)
Catchy theme that reminds me of Doldinger's Das boot and The neverending story.
The screen music of Richard Harvey - Shroud for a nightingale (Richard Harvey)
A classic theme. Strangely people never seem to mention it.
Dawson's Creek - Appetite for destruction (Adam Fields)
I've never seen the show, as it looks a bit too teen romancy and sappy for my taste. The album is fantastic though without a single poor track. Very low key with a piano, a couple of guitars, the occasional flute and from time to time other stuff. This particular track is sweet and sad with a touch of hope at the end.
Daylight - Latura's theme (Randy Edelman)
I find Edelman to be an excellent theme maker, and this is one of my favourites. It's rather low key with a great string dominated climax. A bit of a cliché to bang cymbals together whenever a big climax starts, but it works dammit.
Leap year - Cross bow
Catchiest, happiest and silliest track of 2010. Impossible to sit still while playing this.
Agatha Christie's great detectives, Poirot & Marple - Joy (Toshiyuki Watanabe)
A very good anime score that I bet very few people know. I love this unique track. Joy is the perfect title because that's exactly what it is. Cellos and harpsichord provide the rhythm, and the melody is performed by a xylophone and a woman singing "Lalalala". I'm sure it sounds awful from my description, but I really dig it.

What's unfortunate about that? Anyway, if you haven't seen Gandhi I'd recommend it, it's a good film with a fine score by George Fenton & Ravi Shankar. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

There can only be one perfect. From this we can conclude that Whispers in the dark must sound exactly like Kilar's Dracula, given the well-known fact that Kilar's score is the perfect horror score.

NP: FILM MUSIC FOR A NEW AGE (various)
The recent compilation from BSX(?). Pleasing enough, but bordering a bit too close on cheese on a couple of occasions (the synths being used are of a cheaper quality than the originals in most cases). Still, I need more relaxing music in my collection, so this will go some way to that.I am extremely serious. -
