NP : YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE - John Barry

I'm only listening to good stuff today.

If this score didn't exist, would David Arnold have still been a film composer?

It ended well too, and everything in between was very good. One day after World of Warcraft: Something became my favourite game score of the year, it's already been knocked from its perch.

The Final Conflict - Jerry Goldsmith

I'm trying to decide whether I'll be going to hell for listening to this so close to Christmas. It's worth it though because man, what a badass score!

Goldsmith has a lot of connotations with Christmas for me, so I'll join you. I'm listening to Alien, and yes, even this is Christmassy for me.

Such is the life of a film score fan.

The Christmas 'highlight' to us folks up North was yesterday (we do almost everything on Christmas Eve, including gift opening), but the holiday still continues, of course. So....

NP: SANTA CLAUS: THE MOVIE (Henry Mancini)

I discovered this just last year, when I did my Christmas episode of Celluloid Tunes. It's a nice score, although certainly not the big masterpiece it is hailed as in many circles. Most of the songs are rather lame. But the instrumental bits are nice.
    I am extremely serious.
  2. NP: James Bond 007: You Only Live Twice (1967) - John Barry
