    All I can suggest is lay off the alcohol for a while! As preachy as that might sound, I've had no alcohol at all for almost two weeks now... and guess what? I feel so much better. My bank balance is looking all the better for it too. (Though I have grape juice coming out of my ears at this point.)

    Wise words. Seriously. I've too been through that phase but i am all over it now, for the last 3 years or so, i am simply enjoying a good glass of wine from time to time and that's it; no beer bellies or anything like that, no wearing off and faintness all the time, no dizziness or sickness and most importantly - no unnecessary financial waste; Steven's got a good point there.

    Oh and i TOO love juices since; and i drink many of those! But there's never too many of those smile ;0

    It's true what D and Steven say. A few years ago I used to drink 3-4 drinks when I was with good company, mostly my highschool friends. I didn't do it much but it was enough to keep me wasted for a while. Until one night I had an incident that made me think about the habit. The brother of one of my then best friends was drank and decided that it would be a good idea to hit on me. He did it the rough way though and I can say I was assaulted in a way. I was half drank and couldn't react well. Luckily a very good friend was there who saw the whole thing and came to my rescue without anything happening. Moreover my older brother found out and had some words with him. He still can't look me in the eyes. Since then I enjoy a drink or a nice glass of red wine which is my favourite and I feel great. I may drink 2 glasses only in the presence of family during the holidays moslty. Juices,chocolate,milkshakes are perfect!

    Yeah, my condition dictates my alchohol consumption tonight. I'll be going to a friend's party, but only while drinking soft drinks, water and perhaps coffee. This sobriety would have been totally out of the question before the diagnosis, of course, but I guess in the long run, there can be some unexpected benefits from it all.
    I am extremely serious.

    I don't know if you're referring to me, but thanks. No, I haven't tried "alternative" remedies yet, but I will if the regular health system falls through.

    The huge problem with alcohol as I see it is the legality of it. It causes countless problems, not worth what little benefit it has to offer.

    Actually it is very sensible to use both alternative and regular medicine at the same point. With the right supervision of course.

    Personally, I wouldn't advise this as the symptoms sound quite generalised and any search would not be of any use. And may in fact be quite alarming. Stick with the medical profession for a diagnosis.

    Glad it turned out OK, as this sort of thing may indeed easily spiral into disaster.
    But this is definitely a good reason for a strong 'talking to'...in whatever way deemed appropriate. angry

    If only people tended to be a bit more moderate.
    I don't mind drink.
    I don't even mind drinking a lot.
    But I do NOT understand WHAT the fun is in getting vomitingly drunk, behaving like an absolute tosser and losing the respect of everyone around you, only to wake up feeling like you were run over by a lorry covered in barbed wire with goblins shooting mallet guns at you...and your mouth tasting like the inside of a motorman's glove.

    Well, that sounds interesting! I'm 37 but I'have never been drunk in my life but now I could get a vivid picture of how it feels like. Maybe I should try it now confused (...no, not really...)

    I second the thoughts of above concerning the illnesses and health issues. And really thanks for sharing (I didn't read this topic for some days). It's good to know how everyone is doing, even if that is not always music related.

    I woke up thinking about yet another doctor appointment on Wednesday morning. I have to fast for 14 hours and as I've said before I feel like a vampire donor with all of the blood they draw.

    Don't get old!!! To top off everything else I now have a rash on my cheeks likely caused from some sort of weird reaction to the combo of drugs I have to take. I recently had to change one.

    I'm still having some additional computer issues. My computer ran a lot better without the Service Pack 3 which I got rid of but came back again as an automatic download. I'm going to have figure out how to turn that off and I think my computer will be better off.
