Actually that's rather unfair: Ringo is quite the accomplished drummer, witness -for one of many examples- the drum fills in "A Day In the Life".

You are right, but it's also a fact that McCartney played the drums on many of the Beatles recordings.

    Whatever gave you that idea?
McCartney temporarily filled in for Ringo when he walked out during an altercation while taping the White Album, so there are several songs on that album that feature Paul rather than Ringo.
But that's the only one I know!

I'll ask my friend about it tonight, he's a Beatles expert and fanatic who knows everything related to them.

I'm off to the pop quiz in about 20 minutes, wish me luck....we're a man down. sad

    What is Ringos?

Anyway, I learned some cool things the past two days, that will make this site the best site the world has ever witnessed...

Ehem, well, someone from the Netherlands came over to our company to explain some things about well written CSS (Cascading Style Sheets, the thing that marks up websites) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO, to rank up your site as high as possible in search engines, addressed obviously to Google).

I love these subjects (optimization, SEO, CSS) and especially the "mystery" around the PageRank algorithm Google uses. There are over 100 parameters that decide where a site turns up in the results, not all of them have been "discovered". The homepage of MainTitles has a PageRank of 5/10, which is pretty good!

Probably a wise choice, as I've heard he can be somewhat of an asshole to fans that approach him "without warning". Cool that you saw him "live", though.

I'm glad I didn't, then! I didn't know that about Mickey, but I have to say that it's very rare if I see a famous person that I will bother him or her. If you spend a few hours walking around London, you'll probably see at least a couple of famous faces (on one trip, I saw Alan Yentob, Kevin Spacey, Alex Ferguson, Don Black and - best of all - the great Barry Davies) but I can't imagine how irritating it must be to have people keep coming up and talking to you while you're trying to do a bit of shopping or have a meal.
  2. You saw Spacey somewhere near the Old Vic Theater?

Mr. Beatles expert wasn't there but someone else who knows his stuff agrees with what you said, he particularly pointed out that Macca plays drums on 'Ballad of John and Yoko'.

We came 3rd in the quiz ( not bad at all ) winning 4 cans of piss water ( aka Fosters ) wink

I always seem to spot people walking around London too, amongst the celebs I've seen by accident include Carol Vorderman, Sir Bob Geldof and, on a separate occasion Paula Yates and her entire brood in Tower Records ( back in 1994 ), Frank Bruno, Claire Sweeney, Malcolm McClaren and the bloke who played Nick Cotton in Eastenders wink

Wow, Eastenders, the first tv drama I remember watching at the age of 9 or so. A very popular one in Catalonia in the mid/late eighties by the way.

Not so popular in The Netherlands, so I had to rather quickly switch to the BBC.... Eastenders in the late Eighties...that brings back memories (I was pretty sure I'd be nigh the only one who even know who Nick Cotton was supposed to be!)

Funny enough I thought that you were probably the only person outside UK that would know him!? I can't for the life of me remember the actors name but he was a very devious and wicked character in Eastenders.

Well, the Eastenders theme has been hailed time and again (and with good reason!) as one of the most powerful TV series anthems ever: the Ten Drums have become rightly famous as being immediately recognisable.

    Bob Geldoff: worrisome person
Frank Bruno: Britain's answer to Mike Tyson or Barney the Dinosaur
Claire Sweeney: great-granddaughter of the demon barber of Fleet Street
