And I think Giacchino has such a reputation some people will buy anything with just his name on.
Some people.
Well, why not? HE KICKS ASS!
(Un)Fortunately he doesn't kick MY ass - I don't own a single CD by this composer and what I have heard from UP it won't be my first by him, either... -

Well he writes in a bazillion different styles; perhaps just his swing '30s Up style isn't for you? -

I got my relatives who live in America to buy it online and then send it to me. (Up to you to believe that or not.) -

No idea but all this transferring of digital files across international borders sounds highly dubious to me. If people outside North America could be trusted to listen to this music, surely they wouldn't have such restrictive selling policies in the first place? And of course we can ALL fully understand why the record companies would prevent non-Americans from buying the music. Yes. It's so very clear. -

Head on over to the official site for Pixar's Up to hear what could very well be a bit of Michael Giacchino's score playing in the intro. At least... I hope it's Giacchino, 'cause it sounds great.
Some of you may remember my post from almost a couple months ago. Well, as new information has surfaced confirming that the music featured in the Up theatrical trailer is by Giacchino, written specifically for the trailer, I can further confirm that the music linked to above at the official Up site is by Giacchino, most likely the main adventure theme of the film's score. Both the trailer music and the web site music share the same motif, an adventurous theme heard on horns and trumpets, respectively.
Well, I've heard the score album all the way through and the music I spoke of is not to be found.
I think I mentioned this before but anyway... The music on the Disney site is not by Giacchino. It's made by Two Steps From Hell. They're the same people who made the music for at least two of the Star Trek trailers. The music for trailers are rarely done by the composer for the film... -

However, you forget that Giacchino has provided music - original or arrangements of previous themes - for such trailers as The Incredilbles, Ratatouille, M:I3 and the Star Trek teaser.

LAND OF THE LOST details and art work
http://www.varesesarabande.com/details. … -066-975-2
Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, sucked into a space-time vortex and spat back through time. Way back. Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world—a place of spectacular sights and super-scaled comedy known as the Land Of The Lost. Sucked alongside him for the adventure are crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist (Danny McBride) named Will. Chased by T-Rex and stalked by painfully slow reptiles known as Sleestaks, Marshall, Will and Holly must rely on their only ally—a primate called Chaka (Jorma Taccone)—to navigate out of the hybrid dimension. Escape from this routine expedition gone awry and they’re heroes. Get stuck, and they’ll be permanent refugees in the Land Of The Lost.
Michael Giacchino, who knows a thing or two about time vortexs and otherworldly adventures, scores a third summer blockbuster, to follow in the wake of Star Trek and Up.
Universal Pictures opens Land Of The Lost nationwide on June 5.

It's not often that the top 3 featured CDs on Varese are all by the same composer. I guess Giacchino bring in the $$$ which is exactly what any record company wants.

Torley?
Torley WONG?
The guy's still at it???
I have his Star Wars Techno Jedi Master still, which he created ...oh...some twelve years ago or so as a teenager.
In fact, it was -MECO aside- the very first Star Wars remix I ever got my hands on, through the long-dead Napster file sharing program during a time when dial-up was still very much in fashion, so it's of somewhat sentimental value to me.
Good to see he went a rather more classical way, yet still very much linked into soundtracks.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

I have a mental block right now, but I'm pretty certain it's Steve Smith who comes up with a lot of them.
