The score sample is amazing. The big rendition of what it seems like the main theme reminds me of Laura Karpman's Taken theme.

You don't need html tags, re-enter it plain, simply. Copy paste the link. The forum does the rest.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Oh... if it is anything like that "Taken" theme, I am all for it. Great stuff!

Funny to see that Giacchino is now one of the top composers. I remember way back when playing that Jurassic Park game... my best friend noticed and mentioned how nice the music was... I checked out the composer's name and thought... who the hell is he...? (I got the score album afterwards)

And now... this "who the hell is he" guy is scoring all these nice pics. Great!

  4. A composer is definitely in a select and somewhat sacred group if there is a hint of someone else's theme in their own music and it is seem as being a positive!

I didn't hear the last part of it, the first time I visited the Super 8 site - I'm pretty sure, the track just faded out. But you're right, it's the same version that's on the site now.

And the audio quality is no good, agreed. smile

Holy shit. I really hope the Super 8 soundtrack isn't such an unimaginative dump of cues.
And, really? Grace's theme is 12 seconds?

Wow, that may be the worst ever.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  6. Two new Super 8 clips, with Giacchino's score:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DQpsohtsEk (you can hear a hint of the theme in the website, it seems like it's a theme for the children).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwjC0Zp7 … r_embedded

Also, I was reading through Twitter and I found a couple of interesting commentaries about the film:

According to IMDb, Bruce Greenwood and Michael Giacchino are in SUPER 8. I didn't notice. Anybody else remember seeing this?

Giacchino cameos in SUPER 8. It's already my favorite movie of the year.

    Nice.
  7. We saw Super 8 this afternoon. It was loads of fun. Giacchino's score was mostly scary and intense, with a couple moments of softer beauty. The finale, though, has to be one of the best things I've ever heard from Giacchino. That was a fantastic scene, visually and emotionally, and the score elevated it to pure summer movie magic! What a moment!! I don't know if it's my favorite film of the year (it's at least in the top three), but that finale was the most moving thing I've seen in a film so far this year.
  8. It's true that Giacchino made a cameo in the film? There's some people talking about it. He's credited on IMDB.
