Well, it's TRUE. But the question seems too easy, so I suspect there's a trick up his sleeve.

I had to google JH Patterson and realised he's the guy involved with the Lions of Tsalvo ( the film The Ghost and The Darkness ).

I'm still no closer to who I think the odd one out is?

All the characters are Historically important, ALL are British.

This is a bit of an educated guess but I'll go for...

    Walter Raleigh

If I'm wrong I'll explain why I went for him later.

You are right in that they are all historically important and British.

JH Patterson is a very interesting person. I recommend his book on his journeys in Africa.

I'm looking forward to your explanation on Raleigh.
When would be an appropriate time to reveal the answer...?
  2. Raleigh was the only person never to visit Africa? biggrin

I thought that as well but it's not the reason I said Raleigh.

( I can't imagine Walsingham ever visited Africa either )

This thread usually get's replies from around 6 - 8 individuals, give it a few days to see how it develops and 'bump' the thread when necessary.

p.s. Film composer questions get far more replies rolleyes

    Okay,

It has nothing to do with their name, time period, or travels.

More of their, allegiance. There, now I've gone and made it too easy. haha

Oh and where is Martijn btw?!
