    HANS ZIMMER - GLADIATOR

In all it's glory, Complete 2CD lossless at almost 2 hours of total duration, this is gloriously Zimmer's most outstanding work along with THE THIN RED LINE, by far. Brilliant.

There's not any complete 2 CD...

Especially the end of "The Way of the Sword", which is clearly a reprise of the (unused in the film) second part of "Journey to the Line" ! biggrin biggrin
  3. Which is a variation on Wagner's Overture (Prelude?) to Lohengrin.

I know this is not film music, but I want to say something about it tongue

NP: Walt Disney World: Millennium Celebration - Gavin Greenaway

Reflections Of Earth is fantastic from start to finish. I think Greenaway combined "Disney Magic" feeling and cinematic sound nicely. Tapestry Of Nations theme is really addictive, I sometimes find myself humming this tune "weeehla wehlawehla weeehla" biggrin I also love two songs by him. (The last song by someone else is boring...)

So I'm always wondering, why didn't he score any movies yet? He wrote such a great music, and has been working with John Powell and Hans Zimmer for a long time, but still has no his own project? Does anyone know why? confused

I've never really thought about it as a MV/RC score, to be honest. Although the movie was very well-spotted, in terms of the action sequences.

Even the unofficial 2 CD out there isn't real complete... there are quite a few good tracks missing.

NP: The Lion King - Hans Zimmer

My #1 fav score - sadly it has one of the worst releases ever, as of now. IMHO, even Zimmer haters shouldn't find anything against this one. wink

Though not that good, this is one of the Rabin scores I like a lot better, with nice themes. cool

    Meet Dave - John Debney

Listening to this album is a bit like playing one of the Guess the Score games. "It's Star Trek II! Wait, that's the sand people music from Star Wars! Yay! Cutthroat Island!" Wonder what's next up...

ELLIOT GOLDENTHAL - final fantasy: the spirits within

What an absolutely mindblowing masterpiece, a thunderous orchestral storm, a genuine score with balls. What a shame Goldenthal eventually decided to deal with stuff other than film music.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

NP: Mulan (academy promo) - Jerry Goldsmith

A terrific Goldsmith score which received more or less the same treatment as The Lion King, but thankfully there's at least the academy promo to enjoy the mass of unreleased (and excellent) score material! punk

Favourite tracks - Attack at The Wall, Short Hair, The Master Plan, Blossoms, Shoulders Back, The Doll Survives, Save The Cannons, The Huns Attack, Avalanche, What's Wrong With Ping, Truth All Around, Imperial Palace, Boo, A Lucky Bug, Gratitude, The Sword

    My Rating - *****

NP: Halo 2 - Martin O' Donnell and Michael Salvatori

The guitar based "Odyssey" tracks are just UGLY vomit but others like the fully orchestral Earth City and High Charity are among the best of the Halo trilogy.

    My rating - ***1/2

    NP Wanted (Danny Elfman)
Not even in an action movie can this man compose something I like.
Had this score been composed by a MV/RC guy, everybody would be bashing it, as it deserves (by the way, "Wanted" is not much better, if not worse, than "Vantage Point" or even "Hitman").

    Wow..I lost your Zimmer moment!

The love theme is gorgeous, isn't?

    NP:the incredible Hulk (armstrong)

After to watch the movie, I find out the main theme and i enjoy more this score.

The movie is terrific. modern, trepidant, touching, action packed, very well directed and acted....

Much more "instrospective" than the boring Ang lee film.

Far better than the overrated (reviews and box office).

Not so good but OK for a light listen anyway.
