This is goddamn amazing! That old Giacchino sound is back!
-Erik-
"Escape From Muntz Mountain" is a fantastic classic Giacchino action cue!
The variations on the main theme are absolutely stunning!

Did iTunes have it listed as that for a while then?
Yes... or at least when I imported it... and I haven't changed it! I think it's hilarious!
It shall continue to be 'Cat Smell' then. -

Which one? I'm loving Muntz's theme, although the Carl/Ellie one is heartwarming. Wait until te end credits. Maybe not the most mindblowing suite piece he's composed, but some damn fine writing. -

Wonderful!
Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain Oveur: I can't tell.
Rumack: You can tell me. I'm a doctor.
Captain Oveur: No. I mean I'm just not sure.
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.

Okay, you've done this before. That's the name of the track... so what am I missing here??
It's New CAR Smell. Not Cat. Doesn't cat just sound completely stupid to you? What does a new cat smell like out of interest?
No; CATS smell interestingly!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Supremacy is my favourite album, but Tangiers is by far my favourite track from the entire series. That is a modern action master piece of a cue! -

A modern take on the sounds of the 30s? That's a thinker... -
- CommentTimeMay 29th 2009
Yeah, has a good point in it! In any case, if you listen to UP carefully, i think you'll find of those much-discussed proofs on how Giacchino is one of the few remaining young composers who can do it correctly.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Perhaps. Though I'm a little more optimistic when it comes to these things. (I think there's plenty of talent going around these days.) -

Oh there surely is and i too am one to enjoy more and more modern film music lately; but i find there's different kinds of such talent; Giacchino is one of the few who can do it in the "grand old leitmotif" way.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
