All the King's Men (James Horner)
Not bad, just not great. But the total absence of the 4-note danger motif is refreshing. And the score features some of the most intimate gentle writing he's ever done. I like the overall sound though, it's always melodic and not another texture based soundtrack he's done so much these past years. At least the themes are genuine Horner."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

I also like the score to Die Another Day and even the Four Note Danger Motif™.
SOMEBODY HELP ME!
(Though it's good to know you think burning in hell is less harsh than having my geekness revoked.

Star Trek (Michael Giacchino)
First ever listen... This seems to be as much removed from the Goldsmith and Horner entries. But from what I'm hearing I think it's a grower. Can't say too much about it, other than I didn't expect brilliance, but I'm not hearing horribleness either.
It's actually a lot more action-oriented than I expected it to be. Which is cool !!"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

2:41 is short. (I.e. it's such a good track it feels short.) -

An all time favourite of mine, this has an emotional power difficult to put into words. True power of Horner's music demonstrated here. -
