But Gordon's scores (except for a few) are so hard to find!
Nevertheless your statement has inspired me to make a priority of getting more Gordon scores...allI have right now is his contributions to Master & Commander.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

Will there ever be someone as good at melody as the likes of Poledouris and Delerue?
Ennio Morricone is still working. John Williams is still with us ( but slowed down ) and John Barry is still alive ( but silent ).On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

On The Beach is probably one of the most overlooked scores this decade. Also, check out his WEB SITE. TONS of clips and complete works to be found.
And pay particular attention to THIS

I've been repeating this album so many times in these 3 days! I've got into this score since when I heard Colette Shows Him Le Ropes on the official site, so I'm really happy to finally get this CD on my hand.
All the themes are adorable, from the emotional main theme to the "ratty" Remy theme, comedic Linguini theme, fun tango theme, and everything. End Creditouilles is fantastic, and the song by Camille is also really pleasant.
The best Pixar score I've ever heard (so far).
Yes, and film too. Though is score for Up is quite fantastic too. Is the film out in Japan yet?
Don't miss it, it is very emotional in places. -

I am afraid of Morricone because while I adore his melodies, I am horrified by his weird and dissonant stuff that often gets mixed in between. So its hard to get motivated to spend money on his scores.
I do need to pick up more Barry.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

Indeed. On the beach has been overlooked probably because it is a TV movie?

NP: The Pink Panther Strikes Again - Henry Mancini
This is only the SECOND time I've spun this.
The first time was when I played the Ryko release on my radio show years back. Anyway, this is GREAT stuff!
EDIT - Tom "muthaf__king" Jones singing "Come To Me."

p.s. Tom Jones is a 'must see' for me when I'm working at Glastonbury Festival in a couple of weeks time

Great stuff! Composers like Mancini (and Barry to some extent) have the gift of economy of expression. Take the Inspector Clouseau theme for instance. It so simple in idea but it conveys everything about the character bang on! -

Have you heard The Thief Who Came To Dinner Erik? I was impressed, very good score indeed.
NP : THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN - Henry Mancini
I love the interpolation of 'Batman, Singin in The Rain' etc in the main theme, takes me right back to those fantastic opening titles of the Pink Panther films.

There will 2 Gordon scores out soon. Bruce Beresford's film MAO'S LAST DANCER will be out in October in Australia, and oversea soon after. One would think that a soundtrack album would be timed to the Australian release.
Also, the long delayed DAYBREAKERS, meant to be released in Sept 08, is now due for a Jan 2010 release. I've heard this one - it's good. The Rugby percussion even makes an appearance in an action cue.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

NP Prison Break Seasons 3&4 (Good Ol´Ramin)
Definitely better than the first release, this one contains very good dramatic cues ("Aim for the Heart" has to be the best cue he has written for the show), reprising all the themes / motifs and finishing with a very satisfying conclusion ("End of the tunnel"). A pleasant surprise.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you
