    Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 and do I ever have the choices. Don't ask me why I have 20 but I do. The one I'm listening to is Reiner/Chicago Symphony. I wonder if William has ever obtained any of his recordings?

    NP: CLASSICAL SPECTACULAR (various)

    2CD set from Carlton with lots of classical showstoppers, usually a little too "pop" for my taste, but I was just in that mood. Right now, it's "The 1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky. Quite a coincidence, eh, Tom?

    NP: CLARINET CONCERTO (Howard Blake)

    Yeah, that's the same Blake from THE SNOWMAN and FLASH GORDON-fame. It's certainly not as accesible as THE SNOWMAN, but it gives the ol' woodwind a good workout. It's tonal and evocative. The eminent Thea King is soloist.

    Me too Thor! beer It's also the piece that some people confuse as the theme to BABE which was in fact Saint-Saens Symphony # 3 'The Organ'.
