    But dismissed it.

    NP: REMIXES (Juno Reactor)

Nothing gets you in party mood like Juno Reactor, and this is an excellent remix CD. Also includes some of the MATRIX stuff. Also, ND (Now Drinking): Newcastle Brown Ale! punk beer

Air is a French musical duo who specialise in downtempo electronica. I'm not quite sure whether it'd be your cup of tea, if I'm honest, Tom.

NP : SOFT ON THE INSIDE - Andy Sheppard

Modern, big band sound jazz, very melodic with some seriously ass kicking playing. I think it would appeal to the tiny minority here who have a taste that's beyond just film scores, personally I absolutely love this, yet another brilliant piece for sunny blue skies and feeling great. cool

  1. METALLICA - DEATH MAGNETIC

From the trash metal gods, a huge improvement on their lacklustre 2003 album, St. Anger. This has actually cool riffs and nice lengthy guitar solos. Hetfield's voice isn't what it used to be but the rest of the band play like there's no tomorrow. Over half the songs are Metallica at their trashy best... A very brutal album with hardly a moment's pause, but that has never bothered me in the past and it sure as hell doesn't now.

This punk emoticon punk was punk invented punk for punk such punk music !

I thought ST. ANGER had some pretty good tracks, even though it was a bit too much fuzz guitar for my taste. Haven't heard DEATH MAGNETIC yet, but I'll look into it.

  2. It has a few good tracks, but nowhere near their early songs or the stuff from The Black album but what I hate most about St. Anger is the overall sound of the recording, it sounds like it was recorded and mixed in a garage sometime in the 80s, with the drums sounding absolutely awful. sad

FALLING IN LOVE IS SO HARD ON THE KNEEEEEEEEES!

(Sorry. I have a sudden craving to quote memorable hard rock lyrics).
    It's Aerosmith on right now.

I feel like making a little building art work of all the desks and chairs here. Especially as they're gonna stop my project (bleh!) which should see me back in more factory-like activities...which I'm not likely to go and do.
    Feeling a bit rebellious... wink

  3. Then you must love...

    THE VERVE - URBAN HYMNS

Their break-through and break-up album. They've since reunited but this was a stupendous album in the day, getting it off with the song that everybody knows by heart: 'Bitter Sweet Symphony'. Every tune is an ode to music, rock music in general and can I just compliment the most incredible vocal chords owned by Richard Ashcroft: he just sends shivers down the spine with the incredible 'The Drugs Don't Work', 'Lucky Man' and 'Velvet Morning'. This is a five star album in my book and definitely a CD I would take with me on an island.
