Love Fauré myself. Although, to be fair, I'm only familiar with the requiem. And "Clair de Lune", of course.
    I am extremely serious.
  1. Clair de Lune? Isn't that Debussy? :ignorant:

NP: THE PINK PROGRESSIVE PROJECT (Pink Floyd)

Trance/house remixes of Pink Floyd. Variable in quality, but the tracks that work are really cool.

Nah, not necessarily. There are other re-mix/re-conceptualization CD's that are better, I think.

Okay. As to other mixes I've only heard the orchestral Dark Side of The Moon and Dub Side of The Moon ( which I love )

NP : REVERIE : THE ESSENTIAL FRENCH COLLECTION - Various Artists

This is a very good collection of classical works by French composers spread over 2 CD's including Ravel, Debussy, Faure, Offenbach, Bizet, Delibes, Berlioz, Saint-Saens etc, the majority of which are the popular works, it makes for a lovely and very relaxing Saturday afternoon listen.

NP : DANCES - Malcolm Arnold

Another old favourite of mine, a lot of short pieces based on English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Cornish folk songs. To British listeners it's a surprise to find a few of the pieces are very familiar for being used in TV dramas etc.

I'm in classical mood today and don't feel like playing anything else.

    NP : SYMPHONY # 6 - Ralph Vaughan Williams

Achingly beautiful symphony with that "religious sound", moving and incredible work.

I'm still much more in the mood for more classical than any other kind of playing at the moment, I've seen some people on some boards who like nothing but film music, that would just drive me nuts.

NP : CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA - Bela Bartok

A good challenging listen, you can hear influences in this on film music, particularly Jerry Goldsmith.

There's a "famous" part to this symphony that all fans on the film ALIEN will recognise.

    NP : SYMPHONY # 6 - Ralph Vaughan Williams

This one has a film link too, an unused film theme and the last two minutes of the 1st movement ( unbelievably gorgeous and moving, I recommend you check it out ) which was used for 1970's TV series A Family At War, a very good series about life on the streets of London during WW II. This is a powerful symphony, beautiful with occasionally very violent outbursts.

    FINDING & BELIEVING

It's got orchestra and sounds like an urban cop thriller, I can imagine Detectives tailing bad guys through the late city lights.
