Then it's not the same. Bigger = much lower frequencies and all freq spectra rendered even better.
Plus, i am talking about your room. It's not properly built (inside - out, shape, etc) to properly handle sound. Room acoustics, forget the speakers themselves.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I saw How To Train Your Dragon in 3D this summer, and it was my first time* when I thought the 3D effect is worth paying extra fee**
* except Avatar trailer. I missed seeing the whole movie though
** but it's still expensive.
By the way I had a little fever this weekend, so had a good excuse to lie on the bed and rewatch three animated musicals,
The Prince Of Egypt, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Beauty & The Beast.
PoE is artistically the best, but the story of Notre Dame touches me most, and B&B is the most enjoyable as a musical...
But what a shame, without the gargoyles Notre Dame could have been the best of all three in my list.

Whatever the case may be, I prefer staying indoors, putting on a film, being totally immersed and enjoying the fuck out of it than going out to the cineplex, full of annoying people testing the limits of my concentration and patience, and paying shitloads for something that I can have better at home."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Um. No.
Lawsuit, actually, with legislation now pending forcing cinemas to normalize their volumes.
Why would you think this is bull?

The article specifically mentioned Belgian cinemas.

Not really, have you ever seen the subs and major l-r speakers they use in multiplexes? Not the smaller surround satellite speakers. Those mains won't fit in a living room. Plus whatever you buy, you can never have proper acoustics properties at home.
I prefer my home set up over the theatre. I don't care how much money they've pumped into it and science behind it... I find that I get a clearer sound out of my own home system. I find there is a better balance between sound effect, music and dialogue at home. PLUS, I can tweak the sound to how I prefer it!

The Kung Fu Kid
Now this is more appropriate title. Very enjoyable East meets West type of feelgood film, where little Will Smith Jr. goes to China, gets his butt kicked on numerous occasions, meets a very restrained Jackie Chan who teaches him the art of kung fu, so he can beat the living crap out of the bad kids in a tournament. So much more than a remake because I loved the emphasis on chinese culture, visually it's nothing less than a stunner, plus the acting is very good for this type of film, especially that little dude with the funny hairdo who looks like a miniature Fresh Prince. Oh and what do you know, James Horner's emotionally charged score lifts this film up a few notches."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

You mean The Karate Kid Gilles ?
I much prefer the original . Ralph Macchio's performance in that was far more believable and realistic .
Sorry but I can't stand Jaden Smith ! I saw him in an interview a while back and he was already acting
as a megastar with his feet seriously off the ground ! I love Jackie Chan and he did ok here , but Pat
Morita's performance was much more endearing . Jacket on and jacket off is no wax on wax off !
So , in short ... I'll take the original over this any day ... srry ..."Simplicity is the key to brilliance" -

Watching the documentary "Dangerous Days" charting the production of Blade Runner. I had my day all planned out: watch a few production documentaries from the 5-disc DVD set and then watch the most recent, restored version of the film or the "rough cut" to see what that is like.
But I noticed that the "Dangerous Days" documentary runs to almost three-and-a-half hours - so that may be enough for today. But it's a great insight into the making of this movie. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

The "Dangerous Days" documentary is absolutely fantastic !
I recorded a documentary called "The Owl In Daylight - Philip K. Dick Is Here !" only yesterday from a Dutch tv channel . Gonna watch that later today ...
So sad , Mr. P.K. Dick didn't get to see the finished "Blade Runner" . He died a few months before the premiere ..."Simplicity is the key to brilliance" -

Young Jaden kicks Ralph's ass, and Jackie will make chop suey out of Pat.
I never really loved the original myself, so maybe that's why you have stronger feelings for it.

I haven't seen the new Kung Fu Kid... and don't really want to... but I have a very personal connection to the original and its sequel which I think is a far superior film... not that the original wasn't great. And Pat Morita was brilliant as Mr. Miyagi.
