I'm still letting iTunes select what albums I should play. Right now I'm spinning...

    Hero - Tan Dun

I totally forgot that I owned this. It's nothing ground breaking but I like epic, far east sounding scores. Taiko drums, mail chorus, western symphonic writing... very enjoyable with superb violin solos by Itzhak Perlman.

    What will be next?

NP: How To Train Your Dragon - John Powell

I think what's great about this score is I have an awesome 45 minute playlist I love to death - it basically excludes that annoying "Test Drive" theme - (yup, I said it!) - yet when I'm in the mood to hear it there's another 25 minutes of music to sink my teeth into. lick

If only more soundtracks were like that.

Even though the album is repetitive like you wouldn't believe, I'm always completely mesmerized by it... What a briliant theme... and performed with so much passion. When the choir and orchestra kick in and work together, I get goosebumps. A good example of an album that works splendidly on only one theme.

Great flick too... arthouse meets commercialism, Zhang Yimou pulled it off.

    My playlist:

This is berk (talking about annoying things , i don'tknow why but I find the first notes from this track : annoying )
    Dragon training
    Forbidden friendship
    New Tail
    See you tomorrow
    Test Drive
    This is time for sure
    Astrid for a spin
    Romantic fight
    Dragon's den
    Battling...
    Counter attack
    Comming around.

And test Drive theme is a real celebration!!!

Up Next in the iTunes album shuffle...

    United 93 - John Powell

I haven't spun the complete album since I last played it on my radio show 4 years ago. It's a brilliant score in every sense of the word but not an album I play for musical enjoyment. It works its magic in the film. I can't recall the last time a composer was give such an important project to score. Maybe Schindler's List. I can't begin to imagine the pressure Powell was under to get the right sound for this picture. IMHO, he succeeded and I should have given him more credit for the score when I was compiling my Best of 2006 list.

I do prefer the original recording for his unique sound.

it's the first Media Ventures Epic score.

    a decent score.

    3 years!?????!!! if that's true...Insult me! please!

    I didn't ignore you. I'm a really friendly guy!

NP:Lady In the Water (James Newton Howard)

Oh God. I remember 3 years ago ....the Summer I went to met Hans and Harry in Madrid....Lady in the water came up and I was too focused in X3 and Ice Age 2....

Now re listening it , it's probably the second bests scores from Newton Howard. Full of magic. touchin themes. brilliant suspense music.

What newton howard did and does for Shaymalan movies has only one word : MEMORABLE.

    1-Signs
    2-Lady in the water
    3-The happening
    4-The Village
    5-The sixth sense.
