  1. And interestingly...

The film credits have Zimmer ONLY as producer. It's credited as a solo Jackman score.

  2. There must have been some weird contractual obligations there.

He said it was a time when they put his name on the cover just for selling cd's. that was the main reason.

Isn't that a bit immoral though!? If I bought a Paul McCartney CD and it ended up being recordings of one of his mates singing a few songs then I wouldn't be very happy.
  3. Hans would be the first to agree with you, James, but I think it's more of a legal issue. He is contractually obliged to have his name on the score. I remember the fight Hans had over The Rock - he didn't want a credit, but he was pushed.

Well, besides our fan wishes and morals, we have to remind ourselves it's all business primarily (this is why i am not in agreement with the 'i'll buy anything just to support the 'x' label or composer' morality).
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

NP:Inception (Zimmer) - the digital one-

    Ok. Now a good listen.

It's hard to judge this scores without the context of the movie.

As music heard in the album I have mixed feelings. the tracks I enjoy most are the vangelis/night at the opera inspired ones. It really captures my mind, but I can't ignore the fact the main ideas are taken from other composers. then there are the 2 main "themes" wich are presented in "collapsing dreams" and "time", both are cool sadly are not devoloped very much in the whole score.

the final sensation is I'm listening a really uncomplete realease. A mix of dated sampled string and cellos, heavy synthetic brass (even if they are real) with some mindblowing and powerful moments in the middle.

The Dark Knight was more wild, complex, rich and BIG.

Inception it's a good one, wich probably will grow on me after watch the movie, but it doesn't capture me in his whole, and short, lenght.

Give me Jablonsky's the island anytime dizzy shocked

Was it also the reason on August Rush? Hans publicly said he wrote nothing but was credited as Main Theme Composed by...

NP: Jungle Book - George Bruns, Terry Gilkyson, Richard M. Sherman & Robert B. Sherman

The credits on this movie is less confusing.

    Agnes of God Georges Delerue

It's hangover time and I need something to cleanse the soul. I'm genuinely glad this is only 30 minutes though, because I don't think I could take anymore than 30 minutes of this kind of music (and I mean that in the best way possible).

This score is so good it could win a game of tick tack toe with the computer from War Games.

There's a part in the original suite that had one of Zimmer's themes from I'll Do Anything in it.
