    Yup! smile

The choral Hall of The Mountain King is pretty spectacular. I still prefer the orchestral version though.

    NP: CREAMFIELDS (Paul Oakenfold)

Slightly on the commercial side, this set, but as always solid and with great dramaturgy.
    I am extremely serious.
  1. Playlist "Party Hits 70s". My parents used to play this music on their parties. Earliest music memories:

Village People; Middle of the Road, John Paul Young; Baccara; Danyel Gerard; Bay City Rollers; Showaddywaddy; Pat Boone; Harpo; Pussycat; Mahattan Transfer; Kincate; First Class; The Rubetts and many more.

And isn't it one of the most unashamedly sexy songs ever? lick

Going on with: Christie, Bonnie Tyler; Joe Dassin; Sailor; Tina Rainford; Racey; Brotherhood of Man; Chris Norman & Suzi Q. ; Mungo Jerry; Belle Epoque; Rod Stewart; La Bionda ...

I can't recommend the Hindemeth work enough. Read the review. I will put up a clip later of one of the four movements to give you an idea.

NP : DANCES: ENGLISH - SCOTTISH - CORNISH - IRISH - WELSH - Malcolm Arnold

I've always far preferred Arnold's concert work to his film scores. This is one of the most delightful albums, melody after melody after melody, of 24 tracks not one piece is longer than three and a half minutes.

Never heard it? I highly recommend it. A lot of film score fans would find plenty to enjoy on this album, unfortunately I find a percentage of them are as closed eared as some classical fans are.

I've just checked and this album is on Spotify.

NP: ...Again - The Voodoo Trombone Quartet

This may be the most unadulterated, unashamedly fun music I've found ever since my discovery of The Asteroid Galaxy Tour (hm. Clearly I have a thing for rather outlandish band names) some years back.

I quite accidentally found them while listening to the BBC's John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, which is VERY funny, especially series 1. The series uses the tune I linked to for a signature theme.

Great stuff. Especially now the sun is out.

By the time you get there I'll probably no longer work there. slant

When I started in the late 90's our team consisted of about 20 people, last year it was only 8 and this year will only be 6.

Kudos for deleting albums (although I haven't heard the latest Oldfield yet...it's not on top of my list)!

It seems like people are offended when you delete digital albums these days, as if the fact that they're digital somehow means you'll want to have it around forever.
