    Well. This is rather good.

    NP: THE KENTUCKIAN (Bernard Herrmann)

Excellent rerecording of a sweeping score.
    I am extremely serious.

This is a very nice score from Mr. Herrmann.
After a second listen I was totally won over!

How did you get a hold of that? I want to hear that!
  4. Just finished my first listen of...

    HANCOCK - John Powell

Some good stuff and some not quite as good stuff, and some really good stuff at the end. The more of this man's music I hear the more I like him. I've decided he needs to score the next Bond film. Somebody tell the studio I've made up my mind.
  5. Which release did you listened? The complete score has some great alternate and unused material.
  6. Just the commercial release.

Bearing in mind the complete doesn't make as good an album as the official one - it just happens to have some excellent music missing from the regular album.

No he doesn't. He has his Bourne scores which about as close to Bond as you can get.

I'd like to see him score a Bond film but he'd have to bring something new rather than a Bourne rehash.

Arnold's still one of the best choices since he knows how to score a Bond film so well. But I would love to hear what Powell would come up with, especially as it wouldn't be an animated film!

Maybe a full out sci-fi film would be good for Powell... lick

Although I'd be happy for Arnold to return it has to be said that his Bond scores are 'same old' now, there's no diversity and they are all interchangeable.

To a degree, yes. But I'd say Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day share more similarities with one another than they do with Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace, and vice versa.

  8. Decided to finally look at what the total damage is in the trunk. Other victims include:

    "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm"
    Bernstein Box
    (rejected scores)
    "Innerspace" (Yes, the LLLR release)
    others.

This excellent books with composer information, interviews, stories, etc. by a very very nice musician whom sent it to me without even asking -- just cause I hadn't read it. Completely water damaged.

Sorry to read that Justin. That sucks! sad
  9. Listened to a few cues from "Seven: A Suite for Orchestra".

A series of full orchesral works by Tony Banks. Some very good stuff! Puts Ramin Djawhatever to shame that reaches new levels of shame.
