NP: Mission: Impossible - Danny Elfman

Excellent score. Both in and out of the movie. And if you love the movie as I do, the score is perfect.

It is an excellent score in the movie, but I've never been able to FULLY embrace it on album. Granted, I like it more now than I used to, but it will always remain the score that ushered in a 'new' Elfman sound that I didn't particularly care for -- very densely orchestrated, lots of counterpoint, very intense.
    I am extremely serious.

Can't get enough of this! Danny always does some interesting with Van Sant movies.

    NP: SCROOGED (Danny Elfman)

It doesn't work well in C&C (as usual), but the highlights are great, especially the Christmassy cues. The cue "Frank's promo (source)" is fun.
    I am extremely serious.

Mychael Danna - The Life of Pi

A very pretty and thoughtful score by Danna. It's my second listen and I am going to see the movie this evening.

It's gorgeous, the score; let us know if the movie goes beyond the religious fluffs.

Apparently it's very faithful to the book, which is the very opposite of religious fluffs. Well, I don't actually know what religious fluffs are, but whatever they are, I'm sure they're not in the movie.

A very wise outing from Ang Lee, telling the story in a beautiful style with amazing music (God Storm makes a HUGE impression in the movie), everything is allowed to shine. I don't think I've ever seen an Ang Lee movie I didn't like!

You've seen it 3d or regular 2d? 'Cause i've read Rogert Ebert's review where he says the 3d in this one is phenomenal.

I actually didn't care very much for Elfman prior to this score, outside of the excellent first Batman score and a few miscellaneous melodies. It was basically the breakthrough score for me, though I still don't like a lot of Elfman's work.

But I've just spent 10 minutes on YT listening to some tracks and I thought 'bloody hell, this is good', I was instantly impressed unlike I was for JNH's very underwhelming effort.

Yeah! "Conan" is one of those releases that you thought would never happen (like "The Black Hole"). Therefore I just had to have this.
Evenso I will probably revisit the re-recording (Prometheus / Tadlow) more often. The sound and the dynamics are mind-blowing!

I thought THE BLACK HOLE would never get a CD release let alone a 'complete' release, like FSM's recent KING KONG release it had too many missing highlights in it's original LP release.

I agree on "Waterworld" and "Romeo and Juliet", which means that we share an opinion. And that is a fact.

    Whish someone would release "Flatliners"!
