    So is Yoda's theme.
  1. That's true.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.
  2. Speaking of Yoda's Theme:

As great as SITH is it pales in comparison to this magnificent score.

    yeah

I must say that I heavily underrated it at first, now... I'd have it in my top 10 Zimmer scores, I think, if not even higher.

NP: À Vous De Jouer Milord - Serge Franklin

Hm. Fooled by the samples (which featured a harpsichord love).
"Quirky humor" seventies score (think Benny Hill meets a lazy Henry Mancini in Revenge Of The Pink Panther mode) gets quite annoying very fast. Ugh!

I've always rated it highly. Probably #1 or #2 on my Zimmer list now.
  7. NP: Matrix Revolutions (2003) - Don Davis
    On La-La-Land

Concerning Inception: I compared it to Blade Runner a long time ago and I scarcely escaped the mob's vengeance.

    @ Inception:

It´s certainly among his best, but rating it is hard. Top 10 sounds... legit somehow. But it´s so tight up there.

I totally get the Blade Runner reference, though, and support it.
  8. Yeah, I can definitely see the Blade Runner parallels, with the film as well ("Is Cobb still dreaming?" being the new "Is Deckard a replicant?").

I'm not much of a fan of either score in their entirety, though. Both have excellent single pieces but also some really dull parts for me.

The only thing I would like to change about the album is the inclusion of more Captain America theme.

The story of Inception also ows heavily to Philip K. Dick.

I'm surprised, I would have thought Blade Runner comparisons would be one of the more obvious places to start. That and Night at the opera from Quantum of Solace. wink

    50 to 1 - William Ross

Really lovely. I imagine some people won't like the country/bluegrass feel but I do and when it leaves that behind and goes fully orchestral (Copland via Williams and R Newman) it's fantastic.

A friend pointed out to me the potential basic source for both pieces: Vangelis' Fields of Coral from Oceanic (a non-film album, aka coming from the majority of his oeuvre).
