    Yes it does, IMO.

    But it isn't film music.

Sorry. Although I find myself leaning with a certain sympathy towards Timmer's point of view, you are both wrong.

You make a good point but choosing between them is like asking me if Guinness or red wine is better. I think we can all agree that Ben-Hur is outstanding!

Well, Red Wine is better because Guinness is watered down shit!

I'm going to just give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're taking about the Guinness in Canada! moon
  7. Well, I have to say that even in the realm of classical music I find little to surpass the brilliance, the complexity and the melodic splendour of Ben Hur. And all that I can think of are works of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.

I agree! Anyway, I'm not for a second saying it's the best piece of music ever written or that it's even my favourite. I'm merely using hyperbole to point out that it's fucking awesome! :-)

No... I'm talking about Guinness. It's fine for what it is but I'll take a good glass of red over Guinness any day. And if I want a stout I've got far superior locally brewed craft stouts or way more tasty and complex Russian Imperial stouts I can choose from. I haven't bought a Guinness in years. I won't say no if offered one but I never crave it anymore now that I know it's just a rather boring, plain, one dimensional beer.

  10. I'm talking about real Guinness drank in Ireland, I don't even drink it here in Bristol!

My bar specialises in craft beers from around the world. No Guinness here! Used to be fan but, you're right, there's far better stouts and porters out there.

It's a popular drink in Flatland though.

    The Walk - Alan Silvestri

The first half was annoying. The second half was bland (and the Fur Elise quote incredibly irritating). Disappointing.

I think most people are full of shit when it comes to discussing the differences between very similar drinks, especially lager, but I do know there is (I think?) a lighter, more fizzy Guiness and a fuller, not-so-fizzy Guiness. Right?

The only Guinness brewed in Canada is the extra stout and I won't touch that with a ten foot pole. I've had the authentic draught, which comes straight from headquarters in Ireland, either straight from the keg or from the nitro can. Also, my mother-in-law's husband is from the UK and has had Guinness at the brewery many times. He says that Guinness tastes just the same out of the tap here in Canada as it does in Ireland. But what the fuck does he know, right?

And a very simple "fuck you" to you! I can easily tell the difference between shit beer and great beer. Guinness is average at best but I'm sure a "fresher" keg at the brewery is going to taste slightly better then what pours out of the keg in my local pub. But the fact is Guinness is a light weight dry stout. Less than 200 calories and 4.2%. Yawn!

And yes, there are different versions of Guinness brewed. Some of stronger than others, some are charged with nitro others aren't. The basic beer is average at best. I've had dozens upon dozens or better stouts and most of them brewed right here in Ontario.

Annoying? Hummmm.... really? Bland? REEEEEEALLYI? Does it make for a nice, easily listening, coherent album. Debatable. It does bounce around stylistically a lot. But I'm going to reckon that the cues are pretty spread apart in the film.

I think it's a fantastic effort. Dynamite recording as well.

I'll be listening to it again. I just took a break for Ant-Man, which is still a blast. Agreed that the recording sounds terrific.

Ant-Man is indeed superb! Jerry Goldsmith would have been proud of that main theme! wink
