Jordi, why all the big fonts? I'd advice you start using them in a more restrained fashion.

Well Steven, if you find out that you do eventually, please let me know 'cause i absolutely love it too!
n.p. WILLIAM ROSS - the evening star
Irresistible, passionate and sweepingly melodic, this is one big and pure delight from start to finish; equipped with beyond words-beautiful themes like the one heard in "Rosie Comes Home" for the first time or the addictive main theme, this is an instantly lovable and heart-warming orchestral gem i'd wholly recommend to every lover of quality film music.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

NP: Medal of Honor - Michael Giacchino
I'm on a bit of a Giacchino kick today. So, I thought I'd listen to two of his all time best. I finished up with SWON and now have moved onto one of my all time favorite scores, MEDAL OF HONOR. The themes are irresistible, the action music is exhilarating, and orchestrations are top notch, orchestra sounds great... this is a perfect score.

I just arrived to watch National Treasure 2. One of the worst movies in a long time ( i really enjoyed the first one).
4 hours to go to my job, so I think I will not sleep tonight.

Do you have Tyler's Dune?
Not brilliant but it has some moments.
Easily the best of the Dune's for me.
Are you familiar with Toto's score D?
Tyler's is nowhere near it IMO.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

thanks!
I would recommend the main theme from Seven Years in Tibet, though it doesn't fulfil all your criteria (and is better than anything that does, as a result)
Perfectly said!

Come on, Jordi. Some? Too long? Actually, it's not long enough. There's at least 8-10 minutes of music still missing for what I consider to be the greatest score ever composed.
Some impressive tracks...

Agree, total crap (at least we watched it for free, so our money wasn´t invested in Cage´s hair cut). Probably the worst car chase I´ve seen in years, just to name one of the shitty things of the film. Poor Rabin does what he can with the images Turteltaub has put together, so no blame on Rabin for the result.
NP Flyboys (Trevor Rabin)
Better, much better. That´s the Rabin I love!

Could turn out to be my favourite Debney score. I'll see.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Now playing: "Le vent, le cri" by Morricone.
One of my alltime favorite themes. Repeats the same catchy melody again and again, but a change in orchestration each turn; kinda like Ravel's Bolero, just infinitely better.

Blood Diamond — James Newton Howard
First post on Maintitles.net, yay !
I've been hooked on this one for days: the theme heard in 'Crossing the bridge' is inexplicably addictive. Exams often prevent me from listening to any film score these days, but Blood Diamond makes for a nice distraction, as well as Gladiator (to which I hadn't listened in months, which is a true shame: this one was my first film score ever, and it's kept all of its charm) and POTC: At World's End (Jordi, if you're reading me ...
), which is indeed the best album of all three. On a softer note, I finally got to listen to Silvestri's Cast Away, which Demetris couldn't praise enough
And it is indeed very touching ...
Moving on to: Van Helsing — Alan Silvestri. That one my girlfriend and I have come to like a lot.

Sad Jerry Goldsmith's score is too short.
I like this kind of "blaster Beam" in the dish and the great use of some klingons theme.

No, I didn't hate it. I just said it was a little bit boring, short and not the so good like you said. I still prefer the last trek scores.
But it creates a sense of danger and suspense pretty good. -

NP: Mercenaries - Chris Tilton - theme by Michael Giacchino
A superb score. Giacchino wrote the main theme and one sub theme but the rest is Tilton's. And Tilton really shines. An action packed score with brilliant variations on the main theme sprinkled throughout. And the orchestrations are tight and colourful. They really shine in the action music. "Gas Tank On The Roof" is one of the fastest and most difficult action cues I've ever heard but not once doesn it sound unorganized or incoherant. That track then leads to anopther furious action cue "Explosion Scherzo" which is just as impressive. Bravo to the Northwest Sinfonia for a perfect performance. Tilton's love for Don Davis is evident in a few tracks (especially in "Explosion Scherzo") but it's not distracting... however, we all made sure to poke some fun about it during the recording sessions. And then the splash of choir during the latter tracks is another outstanding element!!!
I can say I don't like Dan Wallin's remix of the score (nothing new here.) Steve Smith's original recording was more open and the score breathed. While there are some details that do come through thanks to Wallin... for instance being able to really hear the strings clearly, the pan of brass, horns and percussion to the centre is far too clustered and sounds like a muddy mess.
Anyway, for Tilton's first big assignment he hit this one out of the ball park. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
