moderation is the key of course
As in all things.
As indeed I also said.
I must have missed that, but I'm sure you did.
Also, you've taken my comment out of context, I'm talking about making perfect roast potatoes, nothing to do with McDonalds
Well, not so much taken out of context, as well as going off on a tangent (as I am wont to do
)
, animal fat ( preferably goose ) heats at a higher temperature than vegetable oil and THAT'S what makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
I don't think that is correct though?
There are many vegetable oils out there with a WAY higher flash point than any animal fat could aspire to.
Though maybe these are only used in Asia?
I think any preference for animal fat has mainly to do with the fact that it has a far higher smoke point.
Hmmmm... this would make a good TRUE/FALSE challenge.

If your doctor told you eating this kind of food on a regular basis would take say 3 years away from your life guaranteed you would do it anyway? The problem of course is we don't know what the end result of drinking coffee, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods and red meat will do for sure. My doctor has always been preaching moderation to me, along with broccoli, brown rice, fish, spinach, and other good foods. She claims I have a better chance of survival if I do and it was proven with the last stroke which turned out less severe because I followed the advice.

Nothing can be done.

I especially was focused on the recent complaining about what should be there, what should be not there and what should not be opened as a new thread, or what should. Or what shouldn't should be shot. Thread police, or not.
Lets not irritate each other by constantly thinking of what is right or wrong when something new is posted, or when something goes off topic.
Thank you.

But I agree with you, but this constant complaining of Tom, or the thread police (when it was still policing), get annoying. I don't care if we go off-topic, or if a new thread is created with only 3 posts. Is it really that important?
