  1. I finished a contest script I was writing last December and my mom has just read it. She said it was realistic and that I am talented. So uplifting.

Just got a new, wireless mouse with a functioning scroll wheel. So free!

Aside from the very delicious homemade pizza I just devoured, seeing my ebay feedback restored to 100 % as a dispute between a buyer and myself is resolved, refunded and the goods are back with me. I didn't know it was possible to withdraw feedback, a first for me.

Thor, wireless mouses are great! I'm currently hooked on the magic mouse from apple, before that I mainly had logitech mouses which did the job for me.
  2. Another news about my contest script, which is more relevant that whatever place I will take in the contest itself...

The story is the most personal one (it was the second draft) I ever wrote, based on a real story that happened to my former French friend (she ended up being very rude in real life, which I realized after spending a week at her place). Basically it's about an emotionally locked-down girl who learns to express her own emotions during a trip to Poland, also involving her 40-something father and 20-something new girlfriend (aka my former friend, really).

Anyway, a friend of mine, before I sent it in, told me that this script is a "subtle psychological, sometimes touching, story". Today I heard another opinion and this girl said that the ending moved her to tears. She gave me a few points how to improve it and she told me that she wouldn't analyze it so much if it wasn't "so good".

Also Hans liked the status where I said that I would send the script to the contest the next day.

It didn't make my day "that little bit better". It simply made my day.

Fresh snow! I made a nice walk this afternoon, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and even did some jogging on the fresh carpet.
  4. A fact that made me smile.

In a 2003 survey of Americans visiting Scotland, one-third thought a haggis was a real animal - and a quarter thought that they could catch one!

  5. Feeling good that I am helping the Greek economy by having a bottle or two of Mythos, a Greek lager.

    It's not too bad.

Mythos is OK -- especially when enjoyed in the Greek heat -- but doesn't really come up very strong when compared to the other specialty beers throughout Europe. We drank loads of Mythos on Crete a couple of years ago.

No, compared with Europe it doesn't stack up well. I'd never tried it before and I wouldn't refuse one if offered.

I am finding though that it is giving me a craving for some crisps!

  6. Where I'm staying temporarily, there's this big orange cat which looks like it's evolving thumbs on it's already huge paws (so it can open doors and finally take over the world) that goes through the neighborhood constantly; wanting attention and getting a little food here & there.

I get tired of having to give a cat that belogns to somebody else attention every day, so I just sort of leave a little bit of scrap meat out.

I've attracted half a dozen cats, including other neighbor cats, which is annoying, yes, but today was the good news.

I got back from petting and giving attention to a grey cat that's kind of skinny and unkempt. It responded with a little fear; it's obviously not got a home, but possibly did at some point before abandonment.

I've giving it more of my meat, some milk, and some love. It's hanging around at a distance next door now. Piddly scraps is all I have to offer in the future. Hope that's enough until somebody gives it a home.

    Weirdness:

I was eating my breakfast this morning and watching the morning news on NRK (Norway's BBC). All the regular stuff -- Syria etc. -- when suddenly the host says "Film music expert Thor Joachim Haga claims there is too much rock and pop in Norwegian films...." etc. followed by a commentary by the culture editor of one of Norway's biggest newspapers!

    WTF?

I was interviewed over the phone for a segment on a small radio program yesterday, and apparently the segment was picked up for national broadcast on the main TV channel as well.

For the TV news segment, go to:

    ...then fastforward to 01:25:05

Next thing you know the Prime Minister will appoint you culture secretary! cheesy

PS: a) Is that guy really going to rebuild the TITANIC? (I would find that extremely tasteless!)
    b) Did that preview of Thor Heyerdahl have anything to do with your comment. The music sounds actually quite nice.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.

The clip from KON-TIKI was used just to illustrate a piece of Norwegian film music (featuring a brilliant score by Johan Söderqvist). That is another trend of Norwegian film that I wish I could comment on, i.e. importing specialists from abroad when we don't have the competence inland.

And yeah, that TITANIC story is incredible. Didn't realize they were making a new Titanic ship!

Yes, those pics were in the pages of various papers here last week, the pop foetus said to one paparazzi that he was going to "fuck him up", hence the minder in the 2nd pic bundling him into that van, though it looks more like a naughty child being put to bed by Daddy.

HERE'S the actual video D. Oddly enough I feel a liitle sad for the Bieby, it's not a world I'd like to be a part of, mystic Tim foresees a sad future for him.

    uhm

I don't feel sorry for them one tiny bit! My good friend Christopher ( 6'9, 120kg ...do not fuck with ) has had a brilliant life out of doing this work, everything from being a bodyguard for Saudi princes ( which basically means minding them while they carry on their hypocritical playboy life style ) to flying in a private jet with the likes of Take That and kylie Minogue. He's possibly the only person I know that I could happily shut up and let him tell stories all night, his character matches his size. I think he'd go cross-eyed if I told him I was sorry he had to look after spoilt brats. dizzy
