    Ratatouille II tongue

If ever there was a Pixar film that didn't need a sequel, it's Ratatouille! (And I mean that in the best possible way as it's my favourite Pixar film.)

Agreed. I would however like one for The Incredibles...

But perhaps oddly, the one franchise other than Toy Story they are continuing is CARS. Cars?! I mean, who liked that film? dizzy biggrin

One of the best feel good scores I've ever heard, and perhaps Goldsmith's most feel good score. Absolute cheese, but absolutely brilliant! (Rudy tends to be the more popular amongst score fans, but I gotta say I'd choose this over Rudy in a heartbeat.)

    love

I tred and tried but I just couldn't like Hoosiers sad You aren't alone though, the FSM forum shows this score has a lot of fans.

And yes, RUDY is far more popular with me.

I liked it (to some degree), but it's certainly the weakest Pixar film. The Incredibles is begging for a sequel, it's that kind of film.

Hoosiers is as far away from the orchestral beauty of Rudy as possible, but both are wonderful in their cheerful sense

Classic Goldsmith the both of them, and 2 good movies too punk

You'd think that, but in fact Hoosiers has that orchestral beauty that Rudy has. Thing is, it's 'hidden' in between (and inside) 80s synths. There are times, particularly in the 15 minute 'The Finals', where Goldsmith lets the orchestra take over and flourish (in a very similiar fashion to Rudy).

I can more than understand why many wouldn't enjoy Hoosiers, it does have some very 80s sounding synths... but that's partly the reason I love it!

But that would take the fun out of trying to read them!? cheesy

Jordi should have left a gap as he was being handed a cup of tea, Confron - ( gets handed a cup of tea )- "ta" -( says Jordi ) tation.

Rather than critisize Jordi's spelling mistakes perhaps we should explain them?

    HANS ZIMMER - the ring

    Very enjoyable.

Having revisited it just today after the long experiences with DA VINCI CODE / ANGELS AND DEMONS, i have to note that the latter 2 scores are heavily influenced by his work on THE RING.

NP : BACKDRAFT - Hans Zimmer

The first Zimmer score I ever bought and still one of the very best ( shame about the retched songs ) , played LOUD this is just bliss! punk

A real nostalgia trip this one. When I bought this in 91 - 92 I was still living in bed-sit land, the guy who briefly lived next door to me used to request me to play Show Me Your Fire Truck and You Go, We Go over and over. He ended up liking quite a lot of film scores through me and I always wondered what happened to him? Life can be very transcient at times.

  4. "Batman: MAsk of the Phantasm"
    Shirley Walker
    , R.I.P.

Well, my opinion of the score isn't as grandious as some calling it the best thing she ever did or this amazing thing. It's got it's highlights, but over all it easily falls under a number of better scores she did for "Batman: The Animated Series"; it's not on top of those, it's not 2nd Place, 3rd Place, or even 5th.

After finishing that I moved onto where I am now: "The Sum of All Fears"
    Jerry Goldsmith
    , R.I.P.

Another score with it's moments. Some good moments, and a style with hints of "U.S. Marshals" (though more enjoyable) and good orchestration for the film, but it just falls flat places and lacks the interest in composition. Before I knew, just now the CD ended (there's not much score on here!) and I was onto some song I don't give a flying toot about.
Really for Goldsmith nuts and completists.

    "Memoirs of an Invisible Man"
    Shirley Walker
    , R.I.P.

I just began track 2, so no opinion as of yet.
The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.

I second this. We need to see it expanded or god forbid completed. I love every second of this all too short soundtrack. Where are the times we sat down to see the movie and had buckets full of tears by the time the end credits rolled by, hey bro? cool

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (James Horner)

Excellent action stuff and legendary Trek themes but if I had to choose between Trek II and III I would take the latter with me to a desert island. I can't explain it but I've always had a thing for that second Horner Trek, to me it sounds more polished and developed and the themes have a timeless beauty to it that do it to me everytime, plus it has 'Stealing the Enterprise' punk . But I love Trek II as well, it's brilliant and the sort of music film directors don't want anymore in their films. sad

    The Stepford Wives David Arnold

A side to Arnold not heard often enough. He clearly proves he can pull off quirky comedy writing just as well as action writing. Very charming little score with a very catchy main theme... a proper proper little theme.

Because they can make much more money by selling merchandise to kids tongue Well, it's just rumor. But it's the fact that kids (and some adults) still buy Cars toys even three years later of the film's release.

I too agree Cars is the weakest Pixar film... it was boring.

Now this is NOT boring! Great score for one of the funnest CG-animated comedies. I've never been tired of listening to the whole album. Crazily funny, appropriately emotional, and fun action.

I'm expecting something bigger than the big Mammoths for Dawn Of The Dinosaurs punk

You know a score is a FAIL when - among other repeated to death HGW-antics for any type of movie he scores regardless, you also hear stylistic references to TYLER BATES' 300 ("deadpool" for one).
