    Judge Dredd Alan Silvestri

I'm listening to the complete score, which if you take out a few of the shorter cues makes for an awesome listen. A fine punchy recording complements Silvestri's testosterone-ridden music very well... love it.

There are only two cues from that boot that I added to the official release - "Troops in the Street" and "Tunnel Run" You can throw the rest out.

    That bad quality huh? tongue

But it's true, Judge Dredd remains one of the most satisfying pure action scores ever. Silvestri was in top form composing for this admittedly cheesy but still enjoyable flick. It almost makes me wish Hollywood would give 'Judge Dredd 2' the green light, on condition Silvestri would write the score. ALMOST! cheesy

    NP: Up - Michael Giacchino

    First listen. smile
  2. NP: Underground - Stuart Hancock

I don't think that Mikael has officially announced this release yet - it's due out on CD sometime in early June - but the digital version was released in the last couple of days.

This is my first listen to this orchestral/electronic score and it's definitely worth listening to. It's quite monothematic, with the main theme being repeated over-and-over again...but with enough variation to keep it interesting. And, to me, it's a catchy theme that's worthy of repeated stating.

    Another good release, Mikael.

I love Derek´s Theme. Everytime the theme appeared in the show it made the scene better.

A shame the show has been cancelled. What did they expect placing it on the worst day of the week (friday night)? rolleyes

Actually I don´t enjoy much of the action stuff, but the three main themes for the three main characters are terrific, and are those McCreary uses the most in the show with different arrangements.

  4. Stardust (Ilan Eshkeri)

One of the little surprises of 2007. This stands out as being the sort of film music that belongs in the eighties, full of fantastic fanfares, choral highlights, memorable themes and full of power. Right up my alley then! I'm glad Thomas showed me the film, entertaining as it is the score works very much on its own, and despite the obvious 'borrowings' it's a non-stop enjoyable and beautiful fantasy score.

I'm not a big fan of this score on album, and I have to watch the movie again (saw it only once several years ago and it was great), but still fun to listen. smile

Actually I think you'll find that the kittens are employing a combination of Bruce Lee's Jeet-Kun-Do and Japanese Sumo wrestling, the wrestling cat using it's tail to sweep away rice grains is also acting as a distraction for jeet-kun-do cat who quickly loses after a forward tackle from sumo cat.

It should be pointed out that in actuality there was no Karate involved whatsoever.

What a dissapoinment, where is the trance sound wich I love from this people?

The singer, trying to be a new version of Bob Marley is annoying.

    NP:Star trek (Giacchino)

Can anyone tell me if "nice to meld you" motif is actually the variation of some theme? I can't figure out. I love that track.

    Ocean's 13 David Holmes

The Ocean's scores rarely get a mention on this forum, probably due to it not being a typical "score" (i.e. no sense of narrative or any sort of leitmotif). But I think they're the some of the coolest scores ever composed, right up there with Bullitt.
