Scored perfectly both intellectually and emotionally. Complex yet enjoyable as a standalone listen. Perfect for the movie. An undisputed winner.

I prefer it on CD. One of my favourite scores, and certainly my favourite Broughton score (of which there are many).
  3. Tomorrow Never Dies (David Arnold)

This is the expanded edition without the songs and my first listen. Still the strongest of all Arnold Bond music. The extra cues are a welcome addition as they were left out of the regular release, and they're mainly action pieces for the second half of the film. While not the best he has ever written, I still prefer this over any of his material composed for the following Bond pictures. Best of the bunch are 'Bike Chase' and 'All in a Day's Work'. This is a rocking good score and I truly hope David will once again rise to this level in the future, be it a Bond or not.

I think the CD album isn't long enough... I want more of that soaring sci-fi adventuring music. A Broughton I truly enjoy time and time again, all of it !!!!

  8. The Journey of Natty Gann (James Horner)

Another horrible quality bootleg, but... and this is a big BUT the music is absolutely wonderful. If you can overcome the quality of the sound, you will hear the basis of much of his later great scores. And it's one of his most overlooked gems. I mean entire themes, motifs are directly lifted from this, apparently because the composer wanted the audience to hear them as this score has never been released. I don't blame him with the music being so good he re-used much of what we're hearing here in scores such as An American Tail (the playful music), The Land Before Time (the main theme) and many others. Its sound has a lot in common with such dreamlike scores as Field of Dreams and The Spitfire Grill and seeing those are so good, you get the picture.

On a sidenote, this should be released ASAP, let this crime not go uncorrected.
