Here is an interview about Skyfall, in which Newman talks about half of the track on the album

Awesome interview. I love when composers explain their tracks. Too bad he didn't cover "Deep Water."

Nice score, a bit on the obscure side, but works great for late night listening sessions wink

Interesting to read that the iTunes bonus track is a rejected cue originally written for the Close Shave scene.
  6. continuing with Revolutionary Road

  7. Yet another underrated score. Probably his best one for a suburban drama (he's done quite a few of those).

I posted my review for the score over at Home Theater Forum. I'm still working out my style in reviewing scores, but I hope you check it out anyway.

    You've obviously not read Southall's.

  11. I was referring to the series of Thomas' reviews, all of which were 2.5 to 3.5 star reviews until Skyfall.

And yes, I've read Southall's. I'm waiting for Broxton's review.

    From scoop it soundtrack:

Skyfall soundtrack without Adele breaks James Bond franchise record | Soundtrack | Scoop.it
    From www.metro.co.uk - November 17, 5:10 PM

The Skyfall album has become the most successful soundtrack in the James Bond franchise for 27 years - despite not featuring the Adele title track.

It's bloody stupid that the Adele song isn't on the CD.

I am glad it isn't. The song is awful, IMO.

It's a bloody GOOD Bond song! And like with nearly all the Bond soundtracks the song belongs on the album along with the score.
