    lol Well done!

NP: The Film Music of Ron Goodwin - The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra; conducted by Rumon Gamba

Outstanding! One of my very favorite re-recordings/compilation albums. The Clash of Loyalties: Suite was an eye opener for me. Brilliant, brilliant music and a brilliant, brilliant album!

  1. Hans Zimmer - Black Rain (bootleg)

This score deserves a better release, both quality and quantity-wise. The official release misses few setpieces, including the final track and Joyce's Theme. The bootleg has too much ambient underscore. If they'd release 40 minutes of this score in a good quality, with Joyce's Theme, Final Confrontation, Overshadow and Stealing the Money released, it would be a blast.

I was playing :Take a hard ride

The main theme is really cool, But I can't enjoy very much Goldsmith 70's sound. Perhaps it is too much influenced by Alex North Rythms.

    Godsmith's decades:
70's = rythmic and a little bit dissonant
80's= melodic and with busy orchestrations
    90's= cool!!!! cool

    NP:Planet of The Apes (Goldsmith)

With this hot wheather I remember Charlton heston walking to the deserts of the planet of the apes.

You have to be in the right mood to listen this one!

Nope, I already had this score. This and "Rifles" . But I never made a proper listen until now.

NP:...... I don't know. I need some score with electric guitars and percusion but without being an "iron man" kind of trash. Any recomendation?

That Varese 2CD set is simply one of the best. Why that lingers is a mystery.

    touché!

PS: I'm one of the few guys who BOUGHT Menken's Hercules. The gospel songs are terrific.

NP:A dark Knight from The Dark Knight

I find the whole track one of Zimmer's best compositions, a great blend of his neo-classical composition and his ealier days as a synthetiser expert.

The last 4 miniutes with the new arrengement of the 2 notes motif is really powerful. It's amazing how much two notes can change with diferent recording methods.

What do you mean by neo-classical here? I'm just puzzled by that in the context for TDK. You mean the brooding/repetitive strings?
