NP : IF THIS BASS COULD TALK - Stanley Clarke

Lovely album that's long been a favourite of mine, tuneful, melodic and superbly played.

Clarke does a lovely, Weather Report'ish arrangement of Charles Mingus 'Goodbye Pork Pie Hat' which I wanted to youtube here but it couldn't be found.

No, quite the contrary. I have LOTS of interest in that, whether it's rock/pop or classical or whatever.

Their last studio album...almost 10 years ago now! Very bluesy and jazzy.

Nope! A jazz album he recorded in 1976, it's bloody great!

It's been a long time since I listened to it Tom, maybe I should dig it out? I remember not really enjoying it.

I was able to obtain a recording of the 1975 recording he did on Unicorn. It is so different from the Koch recording one almost wonders if it is the same work.
