Hahaha, it's the first eligible score for Oscars this year, as it appears in their list!

    Respek.

I think it's very unlikely it'll be nominated.

I remember liking the music in the film but that may have been the Glass etc wink

It works very well in the original film too, the 2nd part of the -qatsi trilogy which is one of Glass' strongest works anyway.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I was under the impression it was the 2nd one. I've seen them all, Koyaanisqatsi is by far the most emotional, both film and music-wise.

Here and there. Have people been talking about this? Is it what's caused the 75 unread messages in the Hans Zimmer thread over the last 24 hours?
  4. We were talking about this back in February-April quite a bit.

It's that old? I just took it off my shelf today. I can't believe I've had it that long.
  5. It's good. People sort of forgot about it at the end of the year as the film came out two years ago, and therefore it wasn't eligible for awards. (You know, awards given out according to some accountant's fidelity to film release dates, as though every man was an Oscar voter or something.)

It is a gorgeous score, however.

    NP: Coco and Igor (Yared)

    Moody, dark, romantic.

You're right, but if you check the moviescore media's topic on the score, here and the comments on the score here you'll see that we talked about it smile

    Yeap!

the first 5 tracks are sublime. You really are in Pandora.

it's ironic. When Horner was confirmed to compose avatar, I really thought : the action music will be great, but it's not the right composer for the "futuristic" elements. Finally, what makes worth this album is the "new age" or mystical tracks.

I still think this project could have been the PERFECT score for James Newton Howard (more if you listen "city of Atlantis" , "the crystal Chamber" or "leviathan" from Atlantis).

    NP:King Kong (Newton Howard)

The main theme (or motif) is mysterious, and highly effective. the action music is pretty well composed and energic. the "love theme" is beautiful.

Then...Why I never can listen the whole album? I really find it tedious.

    I try, I swear, I try.

I will play next:Dinotopia (Trevor Jones)

    Majestous fantasy music.

Totally. I mean, isn't this the same composer who wrote the score for Aliens... a film that took place in 2179. Horner has no idea how to write for a movie that takes place in the future. What a hack!
