Kidding, right? Right?
I'm with you and Jordi, Beowulf is a great score.
But GI joe is better than both scores -

Now this is a good Silvestri.
I prefer this score over Mummy returns. and I'm not kidding. -

NP: Season of the Witch - Atli the Viking
I am not sure what everyone was complaining about when this came out, calling it incoherent noise and such. It's actually in the same vein as the rest of Atli's recent scores. Dark pulsing string work, long brooding (and sometimes heroic) chord progressions with a healthy amount of vocal work in the mix.
Of course, I am only 3 tracks in, so there may be more filler later, but that was true of Babylon A.D. too. It's just not accurate to write this score off as having nothing of value! IMO of course.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

The Last Airbender - James Newton Howard
Could do with a more recognisable theme, but it has a marvellous (and certainly not un thematic!) texture and orchestration. Extremely enjoyable.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -
I do think it works better with 'Prologue' at the start (duh!), and the suite at the end. I edited a couple of tracks that slowed the album a bit, but then I AM anal about this sort of thing nowadays.
-

I don't think there is any "texture"on it. Sometimes it seems Newton Howard version of Hans' Peacemaker. But agree about what you said.

How does Peacemaker not have "texture"? It doesn't sound quite like any other Hans score.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

Just remember, Matt, Jordi thought he heard xylophones in Silvestri's A-Team score. Let's leave him alone for a while... he's not feeling well.
I wonder why they didn't put those in the right order anyway. I still have trouble truly getting into it because of this. Anyone know the correct order of TLA tracks?
And let's keep it hush, hush, under the loop, highly secret, just between you and me...
