  1. Chamber of Mirrors is brilliant too. I've heard Conan the Destroyer only once before, not sure if it's on the album. Anyway it's a very nice addition on the set.

It's called 'Crystal Palace' on the soundtrack, a fantastic track it is too.

  2. "Thirteen Days"
    (Trevor Jones)
    2CD

Finally giving this score the shot I should have years ago.

Boring. Not a single cue to be taken with. Standard fare, no thrills, no strong or memorable theme, score.
Considering the film it was written for, I feel this was a DEEPLY missed oppritunity. Someone like Goldsmith or Poledouris could have done the film some proper justice. And at tiems it felt the scoring was just "wrong" for the film, too.

This goes into the heap of "Never Play Again".

Skipped to another "Second chance" listen
"When Innocence Is Lost is Lost: The Erica French Story" (TV movie)
    (Dennis McCarthy)
    Promo

Minimal, small ensamble score, mainly guitar, piano and strings. First time I listened to it, I didn't hate it, I just didn't catch onto it, and put it aside.

Listening to it (mostly) yesterday, I find some delightful -- if not entirely original or instantly grabbing -- and pleasent pieces, especially one which I think is just beautiful. This was a refreshingly nice listen and might require a second go.

  3. Thirteen Days is great in the movie. Intense, relentless, tense, with bouts of Americana, mostly for the end. The movie's great too.

I think it surpassed your ability to word a thread.

And congratulations on bringing down Thaxton/FSM Style; I knew there was something missing from MainTitles.

You're not. You're listening to a 2CD version rather than the soundtrack album, which presents the music in a listenable and enjoyable way.

Also true, the soundtrack album is very well rounded.

NP: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Russell Brower / Derek Duke / Neal Acree / David Arkenstone / Glenn Stafford

Epic doesn't even begin to describe how magnificent this score is. Great opening track. Unfortunately, this one looses steam quickly.

  8. It is very good. Shame it's not available separately from the game.

I'm extremely impressed with this score also.
The best score of the WOW series so far! cool
  9. Seriously??? I think the other WOWs had some impressive tracks, though relied too much on uninteresting ambience.

Going to hunt for it now. smile

There's still some standard game score underscore and environmental sounds or too synthy sampled library tracks which spoil the whole a bit i think. Still a good score.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

    Narnia: Dawn Treader - Arnold

Some spectacular parts but, sadly, rather dull overall.

One of the reviews I read for the film described it as 'Yawn Treader'.

I'm not sure anyone else here has a Blackberry.

I know that I don't get double posts using my HTC Desire.

I don't mind it, though I think that HGW's scores for Tony Scott movies works really well.

The action music is more like Bond than his Emmerich scores. There's a nice main theme though it's not used very often. I think it's a very long way short of Stargate, Independence Day and Godzilla.
